my b.i.l. has not said it but actions like when we are around each other. talking directly to me about similar interests, or throwing his arm around me and hugging me good bye when leaving. being protective over her in public or wherever like a brother would gives signs of sibling in law love. just dont be mean like a real brother would like punching her arm and making fun of her. but also dont be too kind where it may come off as flirting. that could be really awkward for everyone. keep it casual and love her like a freind but treat her like a little sister. thats what works for me and my brother in laws.

If he is a nice decent moral family person then I would believe he loves me like a sister. If he is a player, a cad, a romeo and a womanizer, I would kick him in the nuts and tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine.

I guess it would depend on how it was said and if there was any hugging or inappropriate touching involved.
I'd like to think that most women would know the difference between genuine sincerity and a tacky come-on.
