I'll break it down:
1. The intrusion
2. The assumption that I am a "sinner"
3. The assumption that I want this intrusion
4. The level of smugness one would have to have to do this to someone.
5. Personal space issues

Obviously, no Christian can "make" you repent. You seem to be annoyed at the message that anyone would need to repent.
Repent essentially means turning back to God and away from the miseries of sin. Sin usually comes from an imagination short-circuited by something immediate and oblivious to the long-term consequences.
For example, the temptation to a one-night stand ignores the long-term damage to both persons, the trivialization of sex, and the affront to God, who reserved sexuality for marriage.
Jesus said that the world would hate Christians for talking about sin. He was right then, and he is still right in 2007.
Cheers,
Bruce

I can only speak for myself as well as you can only speak for yourself...with that said, I am responsible for me and my actions and reactions to what people believe, do, don't do, have or want. I hated when people would "preach" to me about repentance and hell, so why should I do that to others now that I'm saved?! I want and try to live the example of what I believe, no one has to follow and no one has to like it. My faith is just that, MINE!
But if you open the door, I'll come in. If you ask me a question, I'll answer it to the best of my ability...

It is a difference in persecption and not following Scripture. If I say "I love everyone", most people take that to mean I won't preach to them. But Jesus preached and told people that sin is sin and encouraged them to sin no more. I do love people and that is why I encourage them to repent of their sins and change their ways. Peter said this in Acts 2:38, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins." Jesus commanded us to go and preach the gospel to every living creature teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded us. That is the Great commission. If this offends, then they are offended with Jesus. But if I can turn one person to Christ and away from an eternity of hell then I have done the work of the Lord.

I've been a Christian nearly 50 years and I've never known of a Christian "making people repent." That isn't our job. Our job is to point the way to Christ. It's up to His Holy Spirit to convict a sinner and it's up to the sinner to repent. There isn't any force involved.
Sounds to me like a childish rant, but that's ok, there's a lot of that going on among unbelievers. *wink*

"Those kind of people" ?!?!
All we Christians want to do in life is serve the Lord Jesus Christ and help all sinners do the same. Why does everyone have to look down at Christians???
And, no, we do not MAKE people repent. It is their own choice. And, they make a very good choice to do so. Goodness, why can't people just understand that we're trying to make their life more better???

Personally it is the talking down. I am not a dog or a child and having someone - usually younger than I - tell me in paternalistic tones that I am wrong and they will get me right makes me want to bite them.
As well, the smugness when they describe in loving words what kind of hellish future is waiting for me if I don't conform to their rules and obey them in all points.
I really don't understand why they are annoyed when I call them religious Nazis. Lack of historical knowledge, probably.

If they were actually strong Christians, they'd realize that they are not to judge others - which is exactly what they are doing. Thus they become poster children for taking the mote out of their own eyes before worrying about the log in someone else's.

Exactly? Their arrogance.
I have spent most of my years on earth thinking about and praying about my spirituality, making it my daily job to try to hear what God is saying in my heart and to love people the best I can.
Then a fundie comes along and just because I don't attend his church or call God by the name that he likes, he judges me and tells me I need to repent.
They have the arrogance and spiritual blindness to actually think that they have the infinite Living God all figured out.
