Currently two thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese and the trend shows no signs of letting up any time soon. A study by Johns Hopkins researchers this month found that by 2015, three quarters of adult Americans will be overweight or obese. America was the fattest industrialized country in an obesity ranking put out by World Health Organization earlier this year.
I'm guessing you're only talking about the celebrities.

hmmm... This is the first I have heard of an epidemic of skinny Americans. Typical thge question is why are Americans so fat? There is an answer to that, it's called having a McDonalds on every corner, or a KFC, Starbucks, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, etc.

If you look at actresses on TV and models in mags and on billboards - yes Americans are Skinny. Go to any public place and you will be amazed how many fat people there are - walmart is a good start (not to say anything bad about walmart - I just see many overwieght people there

I don't know about that, many Americans are obiese and it seems to be getting worse. People want fast and easy food that tastes good. The ones that are skinny probably inherited good genes or exercise and diet properly like everyone should.

Have you been to America?
For the most part the only skinny people are in magazines.
The average woman is a size 14. Most are bigger.
I thought other countries thought of us at fat and lazy, interesting!

Actually, we're overweight. Some of the skinny people either have a fast metabolism or they diet and excercise a lot which can also lead to a fast metabolism.

Once you step out of the Jenny Craig diet center, Americans are anything BUT skinny.
But --you already know this and asked to make people smile today, I'm betting.

Not all of them. On the average, Americans are overweight, but there are quite a few anorectics. Eating disorders of both kinds are a growing problem in this country.

I don't know where you get that idea hun, I'm guessing movies, magazines, etc... but if you have been in the US most Americans are not thin, rather medium to large on average.
