Most maltese are 4 to 7 pounds. That can vary depending on the puppy. I have seen puppies with 5 pound parents get to the 7 pound range in size. or smaller. It is very hard to tell when they are puppies. I see a lot of ads that say what size the puppy will become. I feel that all are just an estimate. If you take a look at human families you may see brothers that vary in height up a foot, sometimes more or less. Back to the puppies. The genetic DNA that is passed from both parents as well as quality food will determine the final size. With all that said most ethical breeders can give you an educated guess as to the size they expect a particular puppy to become. Keep in mind a lot of people want the smaller size and you may pay a premium price for a smaller pup only to find out later than it becomes much larger than expected. I hope this information helps.

Yes the Maltese is in the toy group. A Maltese will probably get to 5 to 10 inches tall and 3 to 7 pounds or more and live up to 12 to 15 years and they sometimes have heart problem or patellar luxation.

It depends on a couple things, they have tea cup maltese and normal ones. Tea cups stay really small and a normal maltese is about 4 to 5 pounds, about the size of a football or a bag of flour. Make sure you read up on them before hand. They can have a problem with low blood sugar but it can be dealt with if you know what to look for and how to keep it from going into shock. Good luck.

They are toy dogs. I take care of a couple, and the male is about 8-9 inches tall, the female is about 7-8 inches tall. Yes, they are adult dogs.

Aren't they about 8 inches tall, and weigh in at about10 lbs. I'm sure that they vary a little either side of that, depending on if they are male/female. But, yes they are a fairly small dog.
