To the first answerer: Do you really think that N. Korea is disarming or are they just playing a game of cat and mouse with the western countries, getting everything that they can before they return to building their nuclear weapons again?

China does not want 2-300,000 refugees pouring in from N Korea. They have in the past cut off oil and food to Kim Jong Very ill. To say they have no power over them is likely a falsehood. If they choose the Chinese could march several Divisions of poorly trained infantry right up the rectum of N. Korea. The only dissent would likely be from Fidel and Hugo. I would bet the rest of the world would send the Chinese gas money to cover the trip. Russia and the West might make a noise clearing their collective throats. China has 100's of millions to keep in check, I am sure their private view of Kim Jong ill is very different from their public comments.

North korea will some day make the nuke, there is no doubt about it. It is only buying time gainfully by bargaining. China will have a great influence in it. Time will come when the deplomatic ties with China worsens with the West and the USA or others it would support North Korea with the nuclear programme.

Although China can persuade North Korea to abandon its nuclear ambitions (due to their good diplomatic relations), but North Korea is a sovereign country and is not subverbient to China. So, North Korea cannot be dictated nor controlled by China. And it was never in China's foreign policy to interfere with the affairs of other nations, unless its own borders are threatened.
