Im confused of what i should take up...

Most people around me are encouraging me to take up nursing or any medical courses...i understand their concerns and reasons...but the thing is, i don't think i can do it..it's not that i hate it, it's just that i don't like it that much, and im not good at memorizing stuffs...

i have a year experience of taking up accountancy...it was great..solving those problems we're fun and satisfying if you got the right answer...but the thing is, i am not so in to business...i do love figures though...

well, i am also worried of having eiher as a career..
what gives a higher-paying job?
Which one is more wanted or has a higher chance in employment?
Which is harder for someone who knows nothing about both?

please help

It sounds like you really enjoyed accounting. You shouldn't even consider nursing if you know you won't like it. Nursing or medical field jobs are typically very stressful and require you to work nights, weekends and holidays. Accounting jobs are usually 9-5 with weekends and holidays off. Both are "in demand" jobs and the more training/school the better the pay.

We spend most of our time at work, so make sure you enjoy it or you'll end up changing careers later on in life. Both careers have their high points, but if it's not for you, does it really matter what others think or the selling points? I am an accountant and enjoy it. I like going to work everyday. I'm sure there are nurses out there that feel the same way. Do what you like and in the end it won't feel so much like work.

I have degrees in both and have worked at both. I like accounting better. You really have to love nursing to do it; it is extremely stressful. You would earn more money in the beginning of your career as a nurse, but accounting can pay better in the long run. If you love accounting and are ambivalent about nursing, go with accounting. Good luck!

As Baby Boomers start to get older there is going to be a larger demand for medical personnel. But if you do not like nursing you don't like it. That simple..

You've had some experience with accounting and you like it so that be the way to go..

Try a year of Accounting classes that will tell you if you really have a flair for it.

Have you ever taken a test that would show your strength and weaknesses?

Do something you like. At the end of the day, it does not matter how much you make, if you are not happy. My point is that if you pick a career just for the sake that it earns you a lot of cash, you will most definately be miserable in the long-term. Stick to something you enjoy because it will never seem like work to you and will be thrilled to be paid for doing something you enjoy.
