Just because creationism lumps the origin of life and the origin of the universe within a few days doesn't mean it's the same for the real world. And not all atheists believe these theories, they could have there own crackpot theories like creationism on how life started and how the universe began like .

1. Big bang theory: origin of the universe (~14 billion years old)

2. Origin of life: multiple theories of how life began on Earth (~4 billion years old)

3. Evolution: surplus of offspring, variability in each offspring, natural selection, reproduction of the fittest and all that jazz
(Darwin, the origin of species, 1859)

4. atheism: the doctrine or belief that there is no God and/or disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.

Just helping you guys so you can make more convincing arguments when attempting to disprove evolution or something. Cuz when I see someone talking about the big bang when the question refers to evolution I die a little inside.

Yes, and it seems even fewer people realize that the man who developed the "Big Bang Theory" was a Christian.. not only that - he was a Catholic Priest! I doubt most people know the "details" of the Big Bang Theory either, in that he (Georges Lemaitre) suggests that everything in the universe was once smaller than an electron. Even Albert Einstein, who studied the universe at length, didn't agree with Mr. Lemaitre on this detail, which echo's a different form of creationism.

Here's the info I could find on him with a quick internet search: http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/science/sc0022.html

This is an excellent point and more of the creationist need to try to understand that all the different theories are just that. Different Scientific Theories that have been proven to be true.

Unlike their mythological "theory" which isn't even close to being proven or factual in any way. Circular logic is not proof.

Intelligent Design is not a theory:

"One requirement of science is that it makes specific predictions, which can be tested in a laboratory." states geologist Robert Hazen "Another requirement is that it does not rely on supernatural or miraculous processes."

The primary case that intelligent design promotes is that life and the universe have systems that are so complex that they can only be explained by a creator. The very essence of that theory is completely un-testable. The only test that stands up is if we can not explain complex systems scientifically then they must have been designed by some form of intelligence.

If it was designed by "a creator" a single being or entity; whether that be God, an Alien or the Giant Spaghetti Monster then we are left without testing. The implied protocol for testing is to give up and stop researching because the answers to the question are to difficult to explain.

The teaching of (un)intelligent design is criminal and wicked in it's intent. The minds of our children and the qulaity of their education is being compromised for the personal gain of a few religious zealots that are no better than the Taliban.

The Talibabtists have got to understand that their religion and our public schools are 2 serperate enties and have to remain so if our country is to remain strong and compettitive in the world economy of tomorrow.

If they get their way we will be reduced to a 3rd world country in a matter of a few decades.

May I point out also that not everyone who believes in Evolution or the Big Bang Theory is an Atheist. I accept modern science, and I am not an Atheist. I even know Christians who accept modern science. The two -- rationalism and faith -- are not mutually exclusive.

Atheism is not a doctrine. There is no dogma associated with not believing in Santa Claus or Jesus or Mohamd.

Thank you for the clarification.

I don't think many people actually think about these concepts before they trash them. It's all a part of defending the faith, regardless of where the facts lead.

No doubt about it! However, I have noticed that atheists are the biggest proponents of evolution and the big bang theory. Did you know that religion and ignorance are 2 different things?
