Everyone should think like you do. A lot of people think their religion is against organ donation, which is ABSURD! I think people should automatically be organ donors unless they specify NOT to when they get their drivers' licenses. Isn't that a great idea? So many people are just unaware. It's a crying shame! Great question definitely deserves a star!! You should go into politics! Good luck, kiddo! :)

Some people are afraid of what it will mean. Thinking that being an Organ donor is the same thing as being a cadaver for medical students or something like that. Others, it's religion that dictates why they don't believe in it.

Personally, I'm for Saving lives....so I am an organ donor....or was in Indiana...I have to get a cali id so that I have one...and so that cali knows I want to be an organ donor.

I am proud to be an organ donor as well (I am 20). I decided to be one when my dad had a heart attack while he was out of state for work. His roomate was also a heart patient but he needed a kidney as well. Listening to his story made me so sad. He died not long after his open heart surgery from kidney failure during his recovery. I signed up the night that I found out what he needed I even tested to see if I was a match, sadly I was not. Just to think that someone in that hospital could have been a match and Mr. Likwood would still be alive (it makes me cry to think about it).

I'll tell you why; it's because they are afraid that if there is a CHANCE they could survive and they are a donor that the docs will "pull the plug" to harvest their organs.
I, personally, AM a donor and always have been. If I'm that far gone I'm probably not going to have a quality of life anyway so "pull the plug" and give my organs to someone who WILL have a quality of life.
I encourage everyone to be a donor.

some people dont want their organs used because if they are ever in the condition in which they could be they might want to be kept alive. also it is a grim thing to think about and people commonly avoid it. people want their organs, and chances are you only save one life. its ignorant as soon as i can i will sign up.

I to am a organ donar and yes i have talked to a lot of frinds about it also i have a liveing will and my family knows my wishes (a family can overide your wishes on organ donation so it is imporant to make clear you understand what it entails and it is your wish to help after you are gone)

Happy belated birthday

i know! i am an organ donor and i dont see why one wouldnt be! i mean, youre dead, its not like youll be needing your liver, unlike someone who is alive but suffering because they need a new liver. people are just so darn selfish these days!!!
