Since you're not the parent I strongly suggest you don't medicate the kid. I suggest medicating with icecream and freezies and popsicles! It works for most of my kids (I teach) and my own son. The tooth will only come out when it's ready to come out (and wiggling it with his/her tongue is a great way to help it out on it's own). Pulling it out and causing more pain will only cause more trauma for the next loose tooth. Make a sundae-the coolness will numb the gums and thus numb the pain and the wiggling will help nudge it out when it's ready:)

It's gonna have to be pulled out. Have her let someone look at it under the bathroom light so you can see really well. You should be able to tell if it CAN come out or if it's still attached and holding on. Sometimes, once kids see blood, they totally freak out even more, so for that...put some warm salt water in a cup and have her rinse just as if she is using mouth wash.I have an 8 year old drama queen myself and that usually works for us. Good Luck!! ps:don't forget to remind her about the tooth fairy.

Oh the perils of being an 8yr old...
The tooth has to come out, as long as it is loose and is a "baby tooth" it is fine that it comes out.
And tell the kid to wash her hands, the gums are open and she is probably playing with it and putting germ and nastiness into it.

Give her a "magic" popsicle. The cold will numb it and the taste will probably delight her and she'll forget about it for a while. Maybe it'll get numb enough so you or she can pull that sucker right out aftera few mins.
Good Luck!

Some motrin will help with the pain, either ora jel or anabesol will numb it, if you don't have either of those then sucking on some crushed ice will help quite a bit or a popsicle. Good Luck.

Tell her to leave it alone until her parents get home. It's really not a big deal for a child to lose a tooth.

Tell her to wiggle the tooth with her tounge, to push on it with her tounge.
When my son lost his 2 front bottom teeth he would not let me touch them or pull them even though they were really loose. After i told him to do that with his tounge they came out that same day and the day after and by him doing it himself he did not cry, he said it did not even hurt.

give her some tylenol and make her leave it alone. Give her something else to do to take her mind off it, like making cookies together. The tooth will come out very soon, and she will be fine. Good luck

I lost my last one blowing up a balloon.. maybe that'll work. The fun part is, the tooth landed in the balloon xD
