To stop global warming....you are going to have to put sand bags around all coastal areas, freeze all Saudi owned Swiss bank accounts, and ban Madonna videos on over 78% of all broadcasts. On top of that, all people should stop eating, purchase a llama with the On-Star system, and stop using petroleum based products. They should act like they did in the 70s when there was the big killer-bee scare. Al Gore just called in to say he was smoking some cheap shake and he thought killer-bees were "funny, huh, huh" and would like to know where he could obtain more cheap shake. Any help for Al from you Yahoos would be greatly appreciated. F'tang f'tang. h

Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.

Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.

It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

Humans are affecting the climate. The question that needs to be addressed is what is the best strategy to deal with this problem. More nuclear plants and a tax incentive for electric powered autos would be a good start.

The main casue of global warming is the sun. The temperature has been incrasing since the last ice age. There is no way to stop it becasue it is the natural cycle of the earth's warming and cooling.

This will open a can of worms. Two groups of scientists, one claim global warming is man-made. One claiming it is a natural regular occurance.

Good luck.
