Im a freshman in high school, and my girlfriend got voted to be a representative for the homecoming court by popular vote.
This means she has to be escorted to a pep rally, and onto the football field by a freshman football player.
This really makes me mad, because I really dont want her being escorted by any other guys, because I trust her, but I dont trust other guys with her.
I dont think that shes asked if she can be escorted by me instead, because I really dont think they would force her to be escorted by a football player and Im just wondering if I should have a right to be mad.
Get back to me.

its not like she chose to be escorted by someone else, just stand by and support her and be happy for her. always remember she may be escorted by them but shes thinking about you and going to be with you in the end.
if you get mad and cause a scene or anything you may come off as overprotective and thats not always a good situation especially in hs.

No, you shouldn't be mad. That doesn't necessarily mean that you are not mad, though. You say you trust her but not the guys with her. Well, you're really saying that you don't trust her, because if she doesn't make herself available, these guys won't get anywhere no matter how hard they try. Let her be escorted by the football player, it's tradition. I mean, really, the freshman football player is going to be concerned about how he looks and how great it feels to be the center of attention...he doesn't care who's on his arm. And it's going to be like what, 2 minutes?? It's not like he's taking her home afterwards.
If you loved her you would be happy for her. If you start putting restrictions on her like this, you will lose her.

It is understandble to be angry that another boy will be escorting her, but really there probably isn't anything that you can do about it. I would just be supportive of her and congratulate her for actually getting to be in the court. If you trust her completely, you know that she wont do anything wrong to hurt you in any way. You could go to the football games and pep rallys that way you could be there to hang out with her afterwards. Also, if you haven't let her know yet that it makes you angry, you should talk to her about it.

No you shouldnt be mad, thats stupid, shes your girlfriend, you should be happy for her. Its not like shes got to kiss the football player or anything, he is just escorting her. You have a lot of growing up to do, and you need to be careful before your girlfriend catches on to the fact that you are a little psycho and leaves you.

Um you are acting childish. She is being escorted by someone, not marrying them. Leave it alone or you are going to ruin her night. Quit being so selfish. And the whole "i trust her, just not the other guys" is a line of BS. Because it takes 2 to tango and if you trusted her to say no...then there shouldnt be a problem. What do you think is going to happen? They are going to start having sex right there infront of everyone?

I can understand how you feel. However, walking onto the field on the arm of a boy who has been assigned to her does not in any way diminish what you have with her. It's just a social exercise.
However, talk to her and whoever is in charge and see if you can escort her. No harm in asking.

Don't be silly, you are being insecure for no reason. I've been with a lot of football players and trust me, they are generally dumbasses. If she likes that......well then why is she with you in the first place? Settle down and be happy she got this honor......it means she's hot, right?

Get over yourself and work on your security issues. Your a freshman in highschool. You wont be with her by the time you graduate. Hell, i doubt you'll be together by the time you're a sophmore.

I see your point, I probably would not like it either if my girlfriend did the same thing, but if you say anything about it, i think you just make it worse for yourself....just let it go, it will be okay.
