the why is the US population booming now when 50 years ago 75% of the country were smokers? Is that 450 page Surgeon General report that none of us can get through, let alone understand, just another bunch of goobley goop to allow the Govt to control what we do?

It would seem like we'd be dropping like flies since so many people smoked in the last couple of generations and we were all exposed to it.

There are more people on the earth now. People break down their lungs and they might not suffer, but it gets passed on from generation to generation. More kids have lung problems than the generation before. If oyyou want to smoke, go right a head. The government tells everyone not to smoke weed, made it illegal to buy and possess, but a lot of people do it anyway. So if you want to do it no one is stopping you. Just don't blow smoke in ymy face, and let me enjoy a meal without tasting your smoke. Yes I was a smoker, and quit when I had problems catching my breath.

And the other half of the question is: If tobacco is so bad, why aren't pot smokers dropping like flies too? You have exactly the same poisons in weed as tobacco.

PS: I don't smoke but am sick of government and self righteous do-gooder intrusions into our private lives.

You're right- it is all government propaganda and a tightening up of their police state mentality. And they did quite a job too!! That's why I never stopped smoking- pure resentment. It was good enough for my parents, it's good enough for me!!
