That's about the majority of the reasons why kids turn to drugs

Good question. From my own experience, I first did drugs at 13 or 14. I was in that "transition" period where I was trying to find out who I was, I guess. I had lost two of my best friends and was trying to find a place where I fit in. I ended up hanging out with the wrong kind of crowd and held off on doing anything 'bad' for a while. It got to the point where I just felt I needed to do drugs to bond better with the group. I wasn't directly pressured into doing it, but I felt insecure about myself. I've since grown up! That's just one example of course. There are a multitude of reasons why kids turn to drugs.

I have a couple times. I was 14 and my mom was in the hospital (coma for 3 1/2 weeks). I was trying to forget my problems. I guess others do it to fit in. It wasn't that fun, but that's not why I was doing it. Hope this helped.

I think peer pressure has a lot to do with it. That and boredom!!
There is nothing for children to do anymore! Someone offers them something to try and promise that it will be an experience and they do it.
It is a real shame.
They really don't understand the consequences.

kids/teens do drugs to fit in with the crowd or to get high so that they dont have to feel the pains they have in their lives!

I guess they do it to fit in.Perhaps they think it makes them cool. It is so wrong.I wish kids would think before they start.
