Hello YG
Don`t be too worried about offending people with your christianity. I have been a christian for many years and I am afraid I offend people without saying anything. The reason is that the unregenerate men/women (unbelievers) of this world naturally hate God. I know because I hated the very idea of God before I came to know His Son as my Saviour and Lord.
Unbelievers are opposed to God because He is perfect and we are sinners. Christians are sinners who have had their "eyes" opened by the Holy Spirit. As you are one of Gods reps here on earth and the unbelievers cannot hit back at God himself, they will hit back at christians.
Count it all for glory and for God when people do hate what you have said or even hate you for saying it.
1 Corinthians ch1 v 18 to 20
for the preaching of the cross is "to them that perish" foolishness; but to us which are saved it is the power of God
.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

It's the bad behavior, not "mentioning" Christ. Just look at the responses you got - almost all of the Christians who responded posted childish insults. You'd think that if you people were trying to argue that you're the innocent victims, you could refrain from the attack just long enough to answer a question - but no, you can't even manage that much.
Try to be more honest - someday you're going to wish you'd kept a good reputation.
=======================
Your gratuitous insult of EvolvedKW was a perfect example of the childish bad behavior I'm talking about, kid.
You owe her an apology.
Doesn't the fact that you people have to lie so much to defend your beliefs EVER make you wonder about the quality of those beliefs? It should.
Oh, and your little "it's not happening to me, but..." questions in the Pregnancy forum aren't going to fool anyone, hon. You got yourself into trouble, and you're wishing that "God" would come along and bail you out. That's not going to happen - you screwed up, and attacking people who didn't isn't going to help your situation.

I think there will always be people offended by religious questions. I know because whenever I ask questions about the bible some people accuse me of mocking people's beliefs, insulting God or something to that effect. Luckily i have found that these people are in the minority and most people answer my questions with perfect honesty.

Their eyes have not been opened.
1 Corinthians 2:14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
God gives us the opportunity to talk to those whom He has prepared in advance to receive the Word, pray for the wisdom to know who they are and that you will have the words at the right time.

Every time a Christian speaks to me, they eventually come around to how I'm gonna burn in Hell, in a lake of molten sulfur, simply because I cannot force myself to actually believe in their imaginary God. I am extremely offended by those who peddle utter superstition as if it were the truth. Those same ignorant believers will then invariably lecture me about the shortcomings of science, which only adds insult to injury. Christians are willful fools who have deliberately turned their backs on knowledge and I have suffered repeated physical violence at their hands (because I'm an atheist) as well as enduring a lifetime of their insulting intolerance. I've earned the right to despise Christians and I do.

It only offends me when people try to convert me. It's like saying, "Hey, the way you think is wrong, and the way I think is right." Then, when politely declined, Christians STILL won't leave you alone ("Man, the way you think is so horribly wrong that I will have to go far out of my way to get you to convert. It's not that I don't like you, but in order for us to be at peace with this issue, you have to think the same exact way I do"). I find that rude, arrogant, annoying, obnoxious, and, quite frankly, disgusting.
And trust me, EVERY ATHEIST HAS HAD AT LEAST ONE CONVERSION ATTEMPT IN THEIR LIFETIME. WE DON'T NEED MORE.
Edit: Would you appreciate it if I tried to convert you into an atheist? If I made pamplets and handed them out during passing period at school? If I told everyone who didn't believe me that they deserve to suffer? If, upon refusal to convert, I persisted to invite you to atheist gatherings, or gave you a CD compilation of atheist songs for your birthday? If I insisted that, instead of schools remaining secular, they teach about the non-existence of deities?

It is offending if someone pushes their beliefs onto you. It's a violation of the freedom of religion. Atheists are people who believe there is no god, not just no-christians and don't want to be converted. I personally have no problems with Christians as long as they don't start preaching. I don't preach to them either no matter how childish I think they are. It's called respect for other people.

Because if you met someone who attributed everything that you claim God did/does to Osiris you would probably take offense too.
When you thank God for surviving that train wreck, it is an insult to those that died in it.
When you talk to an atheist about God it is an almost a certainty that he has heard all those arguments before. Many times. It is an insult to their intelligence that you expect them to accept what they have already considered and dismissed.

its not mentioning it it is shoving it into peoples faces i talk about by religion when asked or (more on here) due to its relevance. i do not make statements of how everyone should be my faith, i express my faith with my blog and my chosen avatar that way people can approach me, but i do not tell people they should follow this or hell fire like allot of people do answers isn't (in my mind at least) a place to shout about your wrong I'm right its a place to ask questions and especially R&S section for religiouse dialog and understanding through enquiring and finding out about others beliefs

People had a lot of problems because of religion throughout the history maybe now they just want to focus on other things. And religion shouldn't be something we talk everyday every minute. I perefer talking about other topics than religion. Especially now there are are a lot of problems, natural disasters. Religion is the least important thing to think about.
