I have a yorkie and i'm thinking of changeing her food. Shes on nutro natural plan and she dose not eat. Her breeds picky and I want to put her on Royal Canin Yorkie food its made for yorkies and it helps the coat, her stools, teeth, and the pickyness they have in the breed. Is this good food for her??
This will be the third time I'm swiching food. Shes been on iams (made he fat) Pro plan (made her skinny) Nutro natrual plan (she hates) And I heard a yorkie live to 30 on this food?
Thank you.

My fiances dog is almost 20 and eats mcdonalds chz burgers...food really has nothing to do with it. Its how healthy you keep the dog with excersize and just how the dog reacts and the dogs span of life. if you want your dog to only eat one kind of food then put that out once a day in the morning or night. if they dont eat it then pick it up and save it but do not give the dog anything to eat besides that food. after doing this for a day or two at most the dog will eat the food you put in front of her. nutro is expensive as it is and unless its a show dog then theres no need to get the royal canin. you really will not notice the differences unless she gets a bath everyday! i would suggest sticking with nutro as it is not filled with fillers and has good nutritional value for the dog.

Royal Canin is junk food... It would be like feeding your dog a grilled chicken sandwich from McDonald's... It is junk, but makes you feel like it should be healthy because the chicken is grilled.

Please go look at this website:

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/

The 6 star foods are the best, and the 5 star are the next best... Where does the Royal Canin fall: 2 star... Remember, anything less than 4 stars is like junk food....

Good luck, and no dog food can make your dog live to be 30. Someone has lied to you about this.

I've heard really good things about Royal Canin (I've worked at pet stores and at a doggie daycare). I would definitely suggest that for your picky little yorkie. As long as you introduce the food slowly, her stomach shouldn't get upset with the change.

Anything from Petco or PetSmart should be avoided. Like the other posters said, Innova and Canidae are excellent foods. Just because Royal Canin makes a food for Yorkies doesnt mean you should feed it to yours. Look on their websites for places where you can buy them since they are not available at Petco and PetSmart.

Royal Canin, is really not that great of a food. I would try Canidae All Life Stages!

Just try the food that your dog likes. Dont force her to eat nutro natural plan is she dosen't like it. Thats abusing your animal. Switch to anything that your dog will like. Also give her can food like ceaser ( My dog loves Ceaser) and also give her treats with plenty of fresh water.
