I would never own a dog that would be kept outside, no matter what age he was.
I think your dog should be about three months old by now since you asked a question four weeks ago & said the dog was two months back then. All in all, he should be an inside dog& just go outside to play & do his business.
I think the house would be more important to protect than a yard!!

Why did you get him if you didn't want him with the family indoors?! Why ostracize him like that? That's not a very nice thing to do. Dogs are social animals and require love and companionship. They are not vases that you stick in a corner and forget until it's convenient for you. Your dog is not a machine like a security system. And bear in mind that whether grown or not, people can and do snatch dogs and/or throw poisoned meat to them. If you are keeping him in lieu of a security system, that's foolish. Dogs can be silenced with a gun, a stranglehold or poisoned meat. And no noise from a barking dog will keep someone from physically breaking into your home, especially if you are gone at work. However, a security system (approx. $35/month like a cell phone) WILL not only sound an alarm but also notify someone, i.e., the police, to come to the rescue.

And please stop writing like a child, with "2" instead of "to" and "4" instead of "for." And the word is "he's" not "hiz."

Dogs shouldn't be kept outside full time. What is the point of having a dog if it's outside constantly? Your dog is way too good to be left alone outside anyways. Don't tie your dog to a tree or anything- if you have a fenced in yard then let him out there for a couple of hours a day, but he needs to be an inside dog.

2 months is way too young to be leaving him outside unsupervised. I have an outside dog (a Pit) and she was an inside dog until about 6 months, we would leave her outside during the day and bring her inside to sleep at night. But we eventually started leaving her outside all the time when she was 1 year old and still bring her in at night to sleep sometimes when it is too cold or when it is raining (we live in L.A. so this is not very often). Hope this helps you!

Why would you get a dog just to leave it outdoors when it's older? I recommend you don't put your dog outside, and unless you are willing to keep your dog as an INDOOR dog for his whole life, find him a loving home where he'll be a part of a family. Dogs, especially puppies, are not lawn ornaments and shouldn't be bought on a whim, then put outdoors when they can fend for themselves. It WILL affect him if you just toss him outdoors when he's older. He will not know why he's being forced to live outdoors after a home is all he's ever known. Please don't put your dog outdoors. Would you want to live outside? Dogs are pack animals. YOU are responsible for it's LIFE.

Its almost winter so I wouldn't wait too long you don't want to make him an outside pet while its cold. You could get a crate to keep him in inside the house if you were worried about him destroying things while you were gone or being taken when you are not there.

Why HAVE a dog that isn't going to live with you?

Yes, it will affect him to live inside with you and then be relegated to being outside.

No, you should NOT just leave him outside. He will not learn manners and how to get along with people if he lives alone outside.

well he should be kept outside from a early age on . but if you keep him inside now until he's older he'll think he is being punished for something when you put him outside to live .

Why did you get a dog just to leave it outside. Let it be an indoor dog. You will enjoy the dog more and isn't that why you get a dog?
Don't make a dog be a lawn ornament.
