I am trying to install a new video card, but in order to download the driver for it I have to know what kind of windows I am running. On my start menu it says "windows xp professional" however, on the driver download website I have to choose from "windows xp/2000" and "windows xp professional x64 edition". How do i figure out which I have? And I apologize for the ridiculously easy question lol.

I went to properties like many suggested, but that says windows xp professional 2002, and 2002 is not an option, should i just go with 2000 anyway?

Hi, Windows Xp 64 bit edition is for 64 bit processors, if u have a 64 bit processor then u will know because professional computer users use it only. You can also check ur processor to see whether its 64 bit by right clicking on my computer and going to properties and see the processor below.
You will most likely have to download the Windows Xp/2000 drivers for ur video card.
Good Luck and take care!

right click My Computer and choose properties for a more definitive description of your operating system.

I'd stick with the xp/2000 option rather than the x64 because 2000 is professional, but 64 indicates 64 bit processor.

Unless you're sure you have a 64 bit processor, it looks like xp/2000 is the driver you want

Normally windows xp/2000 should wrk. Just make sure u download the file first, then place the video card on the computer, then run the file u downloaded from the internet.
