Being that Al-Queada, a border-less militant group, is in direct armed conflict with much of the world, is it safe to say that World War 3 is currently happening?

They are a small criminal syndicate but are wide reaching, resourceful and well organized. I don't give them much credit as they really don't represent anybody except themselves and thus have no real power. I'm just curious how we would classify a war with such a group?

BTW, Al-Qaeda is its own brand of politically minded religion (not radical Islam and beyond the extremists).

No, world war is generally thought of as a war that involves most of the nation-states of the world. What we're in is a fourth-generation war, a topic that gets almost no press, considering we're fighting one and have lost at least three of them.

ITs between america and al queda. They really dont even control a whole country. Its not world war 3. More like a conflict basically. World war 3 will Probably not happen for a while. Though, there are more wars to come before WW3(NK, and if the deal in Africa gets out of control.) The terrorists are just some women with car bombs. I hardly would call that a world war. About sharia_vigilant's comment, the cold war was not WW III. It was Russia and America just talking crap and not doing anything to each other. You will know when WW III will happen. Trust me.

It is not ww111 that has yet to and hopefully wont happen, this is more like a worldwide crackdown on terror groups but we should be waging a war to get every mosque towel headed organisation out of every corner in the free world. If you want to know what the breeding grounds are worldwide they are right across the street in our own countries, dont fool yourselves about that, next time these muslim pricks have or a public protest go and protest against them because they are supporting jihad! Have a nice day and keep alert!

I do believe we are in the beginning stages of WWIII. Radical Islam declared war in the late 90's, it's just the rest of the world hasn't taken it seriously yet. Think of Europe in 1939.

I don't think so. Not yet. Maybe in 10 years we'll be in WW3 if the Radicals don't quit killing off everyone they don't like and if the Zionists in Israel don't quit bombing Lebanon and Palestine and if the Americans don't get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. If the Americans & Israel were to do something stupid like bomb Mecca & Medina that would usher in WW3 as no Muslim is going to stand for two of the holy cities being destroyed.

Not enough centralized control over the Islamic Terrorists. Let's wait and see what the 50 million Muslims in Europe do.

Depends on how define "World War."

If you consider radical islam against the jewish and christian people, then, I'd accept the fact that this is WWIII.

Yes. Most people don't think so but it has already started.
This world war will be Islam against the free world.

No. A dozen or so loonies armed with box cutters managing to hijack 4 planes and crash three of them into buildings does not constitute a world war. You dishonor the veterans of those two wars by suggesting there is any similarity.

Some scholars propose that we are actually in WW4. In retrospect they are considering the cold war WW3.
