Should I clean the linoleum with anything special? Do I use that liquid primer stuff?

Make sure the floor is perfectly clean and has no floor wax on it. Make sure it is level also. if it appears slick in any way you can either sand it down a bit to make it rough and be able to hold the thin-set better or you can buy a degreaser/primer.

If you lay tile over linoleum, over time the grout and possibly the tile will crack due to the flexing of the floor since the linoleum is soft. If you want your tile job to last, take up the linoleum first.

It is best to take the linoleum up first. Laying tile over it will raise your floor.
