As a music minister who has participated in many weddings I can tell you that rates vary depending on where you are and how much experience the musician has, as well as what type of ceremony you are having. You should expect to pay between $75-$200.

I've played for several receptions, and I typically charge $100 for the whole evening. I play very well, but I'm a hobbyist musician, so I don't charge as much as a professional. You should expect anything between $100 and $500, depending on the venue, the length of the reception, and whether the pianist is a professional musician or a good hobbyist.
Good luck!

The woman who played the piano in my friends wedding was an older lady and a member of the church. They gave her and the preacher $50.00 each. That did not include the fee to use the church and the custodian.

I don't know about a wedding, but for my mom's funeral... about 20 mins of total playing there was a $100 charge but that was organized by the church, so you may ask the church.
