What, and ruin the plot? Maybe he wasn't a firstborn son, or maybe it had to do with first born children, and not adults.

Exodus 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

In any event, the above passage would tend to imply that the Pharaoh himself was excluded.

The Pharoah Rameses was not killed because he was the ruler and he was the one who would not let God's people go. He was the one who make the Israelites suffer and for not obeying God's command all 10 plagues were sent.
He was a first born, but as I said, since he was the one disobeying God and defying God and not believing God, then Rameses first born son was the one to die. It is sad that a little child died, but if Rameses would have obeyed in the beginning then the Israrelites all men, woman and children would not have died and suffered under his rule. But he would not free the people and he would not listen or head Gods word.

Because the point was to show that God would wipe out the egyptian inheritance. The Egyptians actually would have been God's chosen people but they rejected it, and each time they did they suffered another plague. The Jews were God's new people and were given birth to when they came through the red sea. If you picture what the parted sea would have looked like what image comes to mind? Each plague represented 9 months, followed by this birth.

Why because he was the main Character in God's plot to save the Jews. God raised him up for such a time as that. God showed his power though the hardness of Pharaoh's heart. Pharaoh said he wanted the first born killed of the Jews and God turned it around on him. His son paid the penalty for his actions.

Was the plagues a good thing or a bad thing, if it caused all the first born to be killed.

Jesus was a first born and He was sent to live in Egypt, when Herod killed all the males under the age of two in Bethlehem.

Joseph son of Jacob was sold in slavery into Egypt, but he became a great leader of his people.

Jesus said Judge it by its fruit. Was this act of killing the first born good or bad.

I agree with Ms. Lady, the plague only applied to the first born.

I wasnt aware that he was the first born. I thought he had a brother/sister. I could be (probably) wrong. The 10 plagues were actually just signs to the egyptians that proved to them that the major gods that they followed were not real and dead. Frogs = their frog god, forget his name....you could look up more about that aspect and it may answer this one.

Because according to Exodus 11:5 "Every firstborn son in Egypt will die, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn son of the slave girl, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle as well."

Besides it's more of a punishment to watch your own son die then to die yourself.
