I have a Canon digital cam, and my problem is my computer crashed one day, and I lost everything on it, including the program to install my digital camera pictures, and I lost my disk to re-install it :( I still have the usb cord..Is there something I can download off a site so I can upload my pics? Or do I need to go buy a new disk?
Thanks!

99% of digital cameras don't actually need the specialized software they ship with the camera. Just plug the USB cable in, and the camera will appear as an external disk drive.

But if you really can't live without the software, just download it from the manufacturer's website - there's typically a support area with downloads all over it.

Forget the cords. For between 10-20 bucks you can get a card reader for whatever card you have. Stick the card in the reader, and the reader into the USB port on your computer. Then open you photo program and upload it like a drive.

It is also great on the road. Use it with your laptop or even a friend's computer and then burn a DVD with the photos. Also, back up your photos if you don't already.

An advantage with this is that you don't need a power suppy for your camera, it uses the computer's power. Also, frees up you camera.

Definitely virtual digital camera. It constantly has larger lens than digital camera mobilephone. Number of Mpix is much less fundamental than lens, think. Digital digital camera has additionally larger developed-in application than digital camera mobilephone.
