The doctors there credit the Surge with the sharp decline in patients and deaths.

Last month there were 70 percent fewer processed in the morque and 50 percent fewer wounded compared to July. The director notes that car bombs have gone from 6-7 a day to 2 a week. They note that even the patients they do receive are from random gunfire and accidents rather than terrorist attacks. In one of their wards, they only had two patients, both being treated for non serious injuries.
In fact, according to the Iraqi Health minister, the main morgue in Baghdad has seen an even more dramatic decline. Whereas they used to receive 180 dead on days, now have many days with as few as 12. That’s pretty incredible for a city of that size.

Tom: Ya start off calling me a liar without consideration.

While you go off on some wild tangents, you make some good points as well. Yes, the media is manipulating their reports. They refuse to report positive news which is running between 90 and 100% of what's happening and has been that way for some time.

As far as the political parties, that's why I'm an independent.

I just wish all Americans were as critical of the news as you are of someone that has actually been there.

Jennifer, thank you very much. Please stop into my 360 page often I update the blog nearly every day, with similiar news.

CNN isn't listening. They have the same information that I do. I do wish they'd be more objective, but the Middle East Times writes more positive news articles than they do.

They *know* that 38 AQI terrorists were killed or captured yesterday with no friendly casaulties, but they refuse to report that. They know that many schools, roads and hospitals have been built in Iraq and Afghanistan but won't report on it.

They know that Afghanistan is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia but say nothing.

Thanks again, Jennifer

I do agree. Dead or captured terrorists kill fewer people.

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics ... then there's economics, politics, and religion. I believe at least 90% of the news coming out of Iraq is being manipulated for political purposes. Everyone over there and over here has ulterior motives for what they report. So I don't believe anything anybody says until I hear everything everyone has to say and evaluate the basis for their claims and their motivations for saying it. If it's true, then that's great. But if not, it wouldn't be the first time a bunch of people lied about Iraq. Incidentally, the war on terror is in (and has been outsourced to) Pakistan. The war in Iraq is just the war in Iraq.

To analyze just two of the statements more critically :
(Last month there were 70 percent fewer processed in the morque and 50 percent fewer wounded compared to July.)
This could simply mean that they aren't processing them. It doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't dead.
(Whereas they used to receive 180 dead on days, now have many days with as few as 12.)
This doesn't mean that there aren't days now with 180 dead, or that previously there weren't many days with as few as 12.
This doesn't even consider that they may just be processed at other facilities, or they're just dumped into a ditch. Or how about our whack-a-mole strategy of making one area safe at the expense of the others. Also consider that more than 1/3 of the population has just left the country entirely, and the rest have segregated into enclaves that are safe for themselves and hostile to all others. And how many Iraqis have clean water and food? What if the reason they're dying now is that they've run out of bullets and now they're running out of food? Even if the numbers are correct and unmanipulated, there are reasons for decreased violent death that have nothing to do with the surge. Without controlled experimental conditions, one cannot say how much is truly attributable.

It's pretty easy for both Democrats and Republicans to manipulate information if you think about it. It really doesn't matter, though, since the only issues on which they differ are on gay marriage and flag burning or whatever. Neither of them are going to stop your job from being outsourced to India or China. Neither of them is trying to stop lobbying or earmarks, because that is how they and their family and friends all make their money. Neither is going to stop giving billions of dollars in subsidies to oil companies or billionaire farmers either. Congress works about 100 days a year and votes themselves pay raises every year. Meanwhile, the treasury is printing itself free money by the billions and the inflation is causing our money to be worthless. Cutting taxes is nice, except when your money is depreciating at a higher rate, and we are just borrowing more money from China and Saudi Arabia which we will have to pay back later. Unlike politicians and CEOs, we can't give ourselves pay raises. It's one thing to try to have an intelligent conversation about which is the lesser of two evils, but people who actually support the Democrats or Republicans, or believe all the garbage they spew every day are just idiots.

Omg, John T, I love you! You are the only person who ever posts these kind of questions, but with good proof too. This is official proof that the surge is working everybody! Send it to CNN. They will go crazy. =)

Also, it is quite obvious that the terrorists are being taken care of! I just wish that the liberals would finally notice.

I pray for the people of Iraq and I pray for our soldiers. I also pray that those who have died (needlessly) had Jesus in their hearts before leaving this world.

I also pray that you, John, as well as the rest of our fighting forces there have Jesus in your hearts as well.

Remember, you have already agreed that this is WW III. That means what the bible says is really coming to pass before our very eyes.
