Okay, this may not be the most brilliant argument you have heard, but follow along. Scientists have, for the most part, concluded that evolution occurs. You may argue about the extent and extremes of which evolution can change things, but fundamentally speaking, the concept is valid. Now, just like nature has produced us through evolution of millions of years, it can be said that some sort of metaphysical evolution can also take place. Suppose this metaphysical evolution created a God! Just like evolution created us through its process, why couldn't it have created a God as well? Of course, everyone would still be stuck trying to understand where the material to create everything came from, but nobody really thinks about evolution creating a supernatural being. Seems like a possible prospect to me, and it would explain God's existence...

But anyway, it's just a thought. Tell me what you think about it, and sorry for the big words.

I can see where you're going with this, and I like the creative thought... However, the metaphysical evolution of God would then make the God you are proposing a non-physical entity...

Evolution takes place in physical properties. So are you proposing a non-physical entity, and if so, what then would be the nature of this God?

I happen to believe that the evolution of God comes from the ideas and non-physical elements of human thinking. So this track would line right up with my atheism.

Is that what you intended ? (I mean this in a nice discussion way, not a sarcastic or mean way...)

you're right. Its not the most brilliant idea. It just creates the same problem that confounds people toward the creation of man.

I look at it this way: just like you can't see a writer or director when you're watching a movie. You cant see the creator in our universe because the story was already planned from the beginning. You just have to assume there is one because there is no other explanation. You wont really know the author until the credits run at the end.

Evolution and all the other theories are all based on the concept of "accidents". The laws of physics created the universe so how could the universe be an accident? If the laws of physics was created by accident then anything is possible. I find it easier to believe something created the laws of physics then believe those laws happened by accident, in which case they could change in an instance and we could be living in fairy land.

We would like some excuse to believe there is no Supreme Being and in that way we could get back to eating, drinking, merry-making, revelry, and maybe even making money. But, we cannot say there was anything there before God, because how could there be anything? Where did anything come from? We can't say there was nothing or a spiritual power and then God became manifest. But, somehow there is a Supreme Being and we are all His parts and parcels.

God is simply not so easy to understand. This material existence goes through cycles and changes. This means birth as well as death and destruction. If you want to get out of all the misery, death and destruction; then you have to qualify to enter God's eternal abode where there is all love, loving, and beauty.

Atheist are more likely to accept your Theory of "metaphysical evolution". That is the only way they think something/someone can come to exist. Just don't tell them this God can start creating some things on His own.

Try this on for size. I believe that God has always been. He is not a creation but the creator. I believe this by faith in what the Bible teaches us. In the beginning GOD created....We are not a mistake from evolution but a creation made in the image of the Almighty God. I can't accept evolution simply because of this.....Why did the apes stop evolving into men?

Something can't come out of nothing. So even if you were to believe in evolution, it would have had to start with something. But where did that begin? Only God has always existed. He never had a beginning, and He created the world. We can't understand God nor can we explain, do you think an ant can explain man?

Where exactly is this "metaphysical" world in which the "metaphysical evolution" is taking place? It's a circular argument. You're using one imaginary concept to explain another imaginary concept, thus explaining nothing.

while you see it like this, I tend to see God's existence as beyond the context of this universe. Why do I say this? This is because many bring up the argument that the Big bang created the Universe, not God. But who's to say that God did not cause the big bang? the two do not contradict. However, the universe has not always existed. According to the law of thermodynamics, when a spontaneous reaction occurs in a closed space then the energy available to do work is decreased. If the universe was always present, then why hasn't all matter reached homeostasis?

I "think" the answer is...our brains can't conceive of God NOT having a beginning...so we think it can't be true. Maybe God made us that way...If God wanted us to understand it...He probably would have made us "able" to understand it. So don't keep giving your brain a brainache. It's a "Mystery" that only God can solve. He already knows the answer..and when we die..we can ask Him.

interesting theory but it negates the whole reason 'god' was thought up. the term god was invented to explain where the hell we came from to our inquisitive minds. it is simply a primative form of 'theory in science' from long ago. there must be some mind blowingly amazing way we all came about but humans have no clue as to what it is and we never will.
