I just spent a whole week debating if I should by a gaming pc or ps3. According to my research you need a $2,000 gaming pc or better to rival the ps3. So I decide to go for the ps 3 for now. I read that the nVIDIA GeForce 7900 series is similar to the one on PS 3. Threre is a lot of info on wikipedia on ps3 technical issues.

Actualyy, you will need two things:
1). Graphic card like Geforce 8600-8800 Ultra (around 300-700 $)
2). Physical processor card from AGEIA (It deals with physics in the game, such as a bullet trajectories, behavior of all kinds of things in the game, ex: how boxes wiil fly because of the explosion). That card will cost you 300-350 $.

You don't just need a graphics card.
You need the RAM and sound card to back it up.
The video card isn't going to do much, if you don't have the RAM to back it up.
