A good question, well asked.
I am not going to be satisfied with my answer, but I will do my best quick answer since it is likely to be better than no answer at all.
It seems to me that your question is an instance of wider class of questions in which we ask if God is good, why would He create X (where X is a bad thing or a sinful thing)? We might ask the same question about alcoholism, for instance. It is known that there is a hereditary component to alcoholism, so in a sense and to some degree some people are "born alcoholics." Drunkenness is a sin in Scripture, so in some ways that would be a parallel case. And so on.
I think that one key to answering the question is in the word "create." God doesn't create each of us brand-new, from scratch. We have heredity and we come into the world embedded in some social setting, often a family, and in a culture, and both the family and culture have histories that deeply influence the life of the newborn, child, adolescent, ...
The Eastern Orthodox teaching is that the event or transformation that we call the Fall corrupted the entire universe, not just humans, and that Jesus intervened to redeem the entire universe, not just humans. And in this fallen world there are diseases and mosquitoes and people who are hereditarily predisposed towards alcoholism and people who (through a combination of heredity and life experience) are predisposed to same-sex attraction. It is part of the fallen creation. In this view the fact that something exists and is (let us say) predominantly hereditary does not mean it is good and that God created it in the simple and direct sense your sentence uses. He created the universe and He created humans with free will, the prideful exercise of which led to the corruption of the whole universe. The corrupted universe includes many bad things that He allows to continue (within the scope of His overall action of redemption through Jesus). And the Eastern Orthodox position would be that same-sex attractions aren't sinful but acting them out is, and that a person is free to choose whether or not to act.
As for Biblical passages, you can see that the position I have been describing is a global one and involves general interpretations of lots of Scripture. Mostly what I am doing here is parroting a book I have been studying which has beaucoup scriptural references and addresses many questions I can't address here. The book reference is in the sources box below. It is a short book, well worth reading.
To summarize my answer: Your question seems to me to be one case of a generalized question about a good God "creating" bad things, and the resolution is in an ambiguity in the word "create." We would hold that God created everything but allowed the Fall and the consequences that came from it, among which are predispositions among some people towards destructive or sinful activities. The predispositions might be from a combination of heredity and culture and family, all of which are operating in the fallen and corrupted universe. Individuals can choose to act on the predispositions or not (in the case of alcolholics or of other addictions, the choice can be whether or not to submit to a recovery program).
The book I am pointing you to basically makes the case that homosexuals are in the same boat as the rest of us, and our tasks are the same -- we are all sinners wrestling with baggage (hereditary, social, or circumstantial) we didn't choose or create and we're responsible for our choices. The catch phrase is "it's how you deal with what you've been dealt."
I've included below a link to the site of a Presbyterian scholar and "ordained elder" whose book is the best I know of on Biblical texts and homosexual practice. And a general link on Eastern Orthodoxy.

I think your question is a little bit sarcastic. God said that a relationship is to be between a man and a woman. And in God's eye's it is a sin. Gay people really have some type of mental personality problems or they are hiding what ever hurt them in the past. Show me: In the Bible where God created homosexuals. In the Bible where it says that God is cruel. So in other words: Chapter and verse Please. There is no way around it, no room for excuses, homosexuality is a sin.

Well, assuming it is from the moment you are born (instead of a mix of nature and nurture) God already makes people who are born more likely to be an alcoholic, why is this any different? All it is is a rationalization for people to be able to deal with it being a sin, it makes it so much easier to think of it as a sin if someone deliberately decided to be gay just to make God mad or something.

You are correct about God loving us all. But when he created the most perfect beings (Adam & Eve), he gave them free will. Meaning he gave them a mind to make their own choices. No, God does not create homosexuals, killers, molesters, drug users, prostitiutes, abusers, thieves, vandals, arsonsists, etc. These are all free will choices that people make. Also, God does not create people that he will not accept. Everyone he creates, he accpets. However, he does not accept their sin. Just like you would not accept soneones choice to come into your home to rape you, rob you, then murder you. That was a choice made by someone else. Every individual that embraces homosexuality or any other "sin" that the Bible condemns is still (and will forever more be) loved by God. Ever since the fall of man he has wanted to redeem us and that is why he sent his son Jesus as the ultimate sin sacrifice. I personally know of several people that have been "delivered" by homosexuality. And no matter who disagrees with me, all of these people say they are extrememely happier than they have ever been. I personally hate it when other Christians bash homosexuals (or any other group of people).
Everyone is loved and WANTED by God. Genesis 1:26-27 states that he created us in HIS OWN image, meaning he created us to be loving toward one another, not hateful. So the bigger question is if he created us to be that way why is society so hateful toward one certain group of people? The answer is not as easy as some may think. Because of our free will, we have another contention. We want to do what is right but often end up doing what is wrong. We must remember that just because it feels good does not mean it is right. It would really feel good to smack my husband when he does or says something stupid, but I know that would not be right. It would feel so good to eat everything in sight all the time, but hello?! There are other people waiting at the buffet line too. Not to mention overeating has its side effects. And it would really feel good to sleep the entire month away but I've got people depending on me that I gave my word to and I don't want to let them down. I also don't want to let God down because who knows if someone might need to hear an encouraging word today and he'll use me to touch that person. I could not accomplish that if I slept all day (although it would feel good to sleep).
Lastly, you can't forget about the one spirit that hates all of mankind and is jealous of everyone - Satan. Because he chose to leave heaven and do whatever he wants to do there are all sorts of spirits running around rampantly doing whatever they chose. And we as Christians are not stopping them, we have begun to accept them. No God did not make any person a homosexual, but the deeper issue is to find out what is missing from that person's life that is fulfilled in a same sex relationship. Or you could ask, what is missing from that person's life that is fulfilled with drugs, alcohol, shoplifting, abusing, molesting, overeating, etc. We lean toward these things to give us fulfillment in a place within our hearts (souls) that ONLY GOD meant to be filled by his Holy Spirit. I hope that I have answered your question without bias, biggotry, or Bible verses (except one). Have a blessed day and know that you were created with the soul purpose to please God and Him only!

I agree with you.
Homosexuality is a complex issue.
I was reading Romans this morning and Paul was talking about how men and women became "inflamed with lust and took up unnatural relations with one another."
I believe the Bible is clear that man and woman were created for one another...our physical bodies only agree!
I also believe that we were created to love, respect, honor, and treat each other with kindness. That doesn't happen either.
Because we are fallen, because we sin, we 'pervert' what God created to be perfect.
We lust for more money, more stuff, better partners, better lifestyles.
I believe that homosexuality isn't the root, but lust is.
Some are given over to their desires and some resist.
If you have the temptation to be with someone of the same sex, it's worth questioning God about.
It's worth it to Him to answer.
And it's worth looking at your motives - what drives a person into a relationship. Even natural relationships with men and women are driven soley by lust.
Theology is important. The issues are relevant, as we see in churches today. People with tons of knowledge make a lot of mistakes.
But when it comes down to it, God loves us. He knows we suck at being perfect. And our job as his followers is to love everyone the same. The best way to bring someone out of sin is to love the whole heartedly. And whether we're in love with money, food, ourselves, others...we all need to be brought back to the center of it all and remember that we're only here because of the love of God.
There are no easy answers, unfortunately.
God bless

What they mean by this is that we are all born in sin. Sin makes us the way were are not God.
Being born homosexual or not...we are all sinners. No one can justify being a sinner by saying "God made me this way." We are all called away from our sin. We should not wallow in it and blame it on God.
Can a serial killer say "God made me this way" and therefore continue in his sin? Can a pedophile? An adulterer? You may say, well those sins hurt innocent people but homosexuality is between consenting adults. This is true, but all sin offends God and is wrong. Sin is not assessed based on if it hurts others or not. Sin is when our selfishness turns us from God. This, of course, includes homosexuality.

Christianity teaches that we are responsible to God in as much as God reveals himself to us. God does not "create" or "allow" behavior. Evil is not willed by God. Christianity does not teach that people with homosexual tendencies are bound for hell any more than anyone else is. The true walk with Christ is, however, inconsistent with homosexuality. The same is true with deception, lying, adultery, theft, unlawful acts and other worldly behaviour acted out by all persuasions.
Christianity teaches that homosexuals are in the family of God's children. Christianity also teaches both physical and moral evil is a result of a world that is out of whack as a result of our own human freedom.
God does allow us to make mistakes and live with the consequences, whatever they may be. And even so, He does not abandon us. He promises to bring forth a greater good out of every instance of evil.
Pope John Paul II said "war is always a failure of humanity". This can be said for many tragic works of man.

Doesn't get anymore clear than this. (below) Male and male do not reproduce. All sexual deviance was forbidden or judged. And there are many references forbidding immoral sex - regardless of gender. Homosexual sex was prohibited throughout the Old and New Testament. Trying to legitimize the behavior will work in the secular society but not in the religious. You can not sugarcoat sin. It amazes me how sin dulls the moral senses of even some who call themselves Christian. Paul said it correctly in Romans.
Gen 1:
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply;

From the christian view we are a fallen race, so you can expect such things, and all sorts of other issues (which have effected all people to varying degrees). God does not create people individually I believe, procreation happens automatically by natural desires and our bodies' design, with spirits created automatically as well. We can be born of God in the spirit though, when we believe in Jesus.
Many Western countries have been straying from faith in God in general, and according to Romans 1, damaging behaviour of all sorts (including in Paul's perspective homosexuality) will in general increase at such times.
-------
It doesn't say God doesn't create them homosexual, but it does seem to regard it as something not-correct. The Old Testament, which had harsh rules, puts things in tougher ways; in the New Testament it is regarded as wrong, but its just one of the many sins people are involved in, and need a Saviour to provide them with forgiveness and help.

Not gonna happen. The Bible doesn't spend a lot of time telling us what's NOT the case. God gives us logical minds and expects us to use them.
As I understand it, people are turned toward homosexuality in early childhood. I think the medical 'evidence' they have found is more about changes in the brain CAUSED by homosexuality, not causing it.
