I doubt that it's a tumor, Don't try to open it or squeeze it. If it lasts more than a couple of days, I'd have a vet look at it, It might be an abscess or it might be something harmless.

You didn't say whether the kitten is acting normal and if the mother cat is taking care of it like she does the others. The more normal it acts and she behaves, the less likely it is to be something serious.

It's probably a cyst or some type of growth. My cat got one in the layers of the skin on her back after one of her vaccinations where the needle punctured the skin. Maybe one of the mom's claws accidently poked through the skin and left a piece of nail or something to irritate it and caused a growth to develop. The vet can remove it once the kitten is a few weeks older.

if it's soft and sort of squishy inside instead of a hard bump, it sounds like an abscess which would need draining from the vet & antibiotics to clear up the infection. don't let it burst on it's own, don't pop it, just take kitty to the vet.

i kind of thought the cat scan thing was funny too.

Cat Scan....That is Good!! Ha

Worst case, the bad word mentioned before, but best case, it could be a birth bump which will subside as kitty matures.

Either way, to ease your concern, call your vet. Good Luck!

I would take the baby to the vet anyway it could be but anything but a tumor it could be malignant of it could be just a infection but take the cat anyway to the doctor.

An abscess is the most likely cause of the
bump. It needs to be drained by the vet.
might need antibotics. Check this out:

hope this helps & your kitten is
better soon.

im not sure if mine was the same as yours or not but my cat had a bump i shaved the area to see what it was. and it had a scab on it. i figured the cat got into a fight with his brother and got a little bite on him. i dont know if that helps but when all else fails stop by your vet and ask

Cat tumor! See your vet.

P.S. Yes, it could be a tumor, and if you don't check it quickly it could metastasize throughout your kitten's tiny little body.
