My previous question was about how worms spread to humans and now my puppy doesn't poop any more worms out. It was like she pooped them out fora day and now her stool is normal looking. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her checked out. And another thing too from the previous question I posted is that she doesn't seem to have any fleas at all. I've looked through her fur and she hardly ever scratches. Anyways, any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Just because your puppy isn't pooping out visible worms doesn't mean she still doesn't have them. She probably just pooped out the ones that were pretty much at the end of their lives.

Since you're taking her to the Vet - and thank you for doing that - bring a small sample of her morning poo with you (use a zip-lock baggy to pick it up) The vet will run tests to see if she has worms - and if so, which type - and to what extent.

While you're there - ask about a good obedience class you can put her it. Believe me, 8 weeks spent on a good citizen class will be worth every dime and every moment spent.

And don't forget to spay her.

most of the time, you won't see worms in the poo if a dog is infected (unless as someone mentioned, those worms were at the end of their life cycle). it's the microscopic eggs they shed that are infectious to other animals, which is why the vet will want to look at a sample of the poo under the microscope. they can tell what types of worms the pup has & give the approriate meds for it. soooo, your dog more than likely still has worms, which incidentally are most often caused by contact with the eggs in other animal's poo. the only one that is caused by fleas are tapeworms. it's very common in pups, sometimes having several types of worms at the same time, but it's usually roundworms which clear up quickly with the right meds. don't bother with over-the-counter stuff - it's a waste of money & may not kill the particular parasite your pup has.

good luck & have fun with your new family member!

They are probably not totally gone. Taking her to the vet is a good idea. Fleas are the most common cause for worms. If the dog eats a flea that is how it gets worms. Maybe your dog doesnt have fleas but it can still come in contact with them outside anywhere. Goodluck.

P.S. Worms are very common so don't worry. Just be sure to get the right midication for her and everything will be great. Without medicine though the dog can get very sick and eventually die so be sure to take her to your vet asap.

Just because you cant see them doesnt mean she doesnt have them. Take a stool sample ( a fresh one) to the vets and they can give you the right wormer for her.

You can see some worms and then other you cant so it is best to have it checked out by your vet. OK

If she received a de-worming medicine recently she was just passing out the worms that were remaining in her belly. It is good she isn't pooping out any more worms because that means she got rid of them all! (hopefully). Dogs who had a de-wormed and don't poop out worms means they don't have any. That is a GOOD thing! Worms are bad for dogs.
