Yes sad to say, I have not been to the dentist for 10 yrs. I'm 22. My mouth is bad. lot of cavities. still have same silver fillings. It's funny because when I smile, it looks perfect, but its not!! I been having off and on pain. Lately its been coming around a lot more often and the pain would last for two weeks. Excruciating pain. Where you cannot sleep and your eyes get teary! Neck pains and everything. Swollen neck and cheeks. I have lot of teeth that have holes also. I simply can't afford dental work. I been taking at least 10 pills a day and change over the counter pain killers often because they don't seem to work ! They would work for 1-2 hrs and wear off. Anybody know any home remedys for tooth pains? I tried anbesol from the drugstore, but its gross and doesn't last long.

I have a really bad feeling about my tooth. A lot of the teeth are bad..its like black. Maybe that is teh cause of my SERIOUS head pain? I can't sleep? And I guess taking so much medicine is bad,but I can't help it. I simply don't have the money. Sometimes I wish I was dead because that's how bad it hurts!

Maybe you can find a dentist who will accept payment plans. I know the feeling, but unfortunately it needs to be taken care of professionally.

My story is similar to yours. I take Luvox (an antidepressant) which makes my mouth very dry, and can cause cavities.. This past week one of my molars had become pretty bad, causing severe pain. Until I can get back to the dentist I purchased some "Temparin". This is a temporary filling material you can purchase at the drugstore. What a lifesaver it was for me. I immediately felt relief when I placed it in my tooth. The filling material blocks the air and food from getting in and has eugenol which helps with the pain may get you through until you can find a better solution. Also if you are experiencing swelling in the neck etc., it's probably a sign of infection and you really need to get that checked, even if by your doctor. He may prescribe some antibiotics.

Ibuprofen has always worked best for tooth pain for me, but you don't want to take too much, too often. How long before you have insurance? A lot of dentists will make payment arrangements with you, if you have a means to pay. Are you working at all? Could your parents or family help you? Sorry, I know how miserable tooth pain can be.

If you're having swelling you have no choice but see a doctor or dentist. You probably have an abcess which can actually move from your teeth into other parts of your head, including your BRAIN.
You need antibiotics for the infection. And if you can't afford anything else, you need to get those teeth pulled. Abcesses are very serious. Nothing is going to take the pain away, trust me. I had to spend about $6000 on my teeth. I know it sucks, but that's really the only way to get any relief.

Clove oil (eugenol) is an excellent obtundant and will diminish dental pain. Your symptoms(swollen neck and cheeks) suggest an infection for which eugenol will probably not be effective. Anbesol is a topical anesthetic and is usually ineffective for deep problems. Rinsing with liquid Tylenol is completely out of the question as its effect is systemic, not local. I hope you find a way to see a dentist soon and get some antibiotics and definitive treatment. Good luck!

PLEASE! GO TO THE DENTIST ASAP!!!
Fillings do NOT mean that you don't have to worry about the tooth ... cavities can start at the edge of the filling and get underneath it!
The resulting infection CAN CAUSE DEATH.
Speak to a dentist in your area ... many are willing to allow payments ...
if there is a Dental program at your local university, look into whether or not they have a clinic (work is done by grad students under the supervision of a professor and it cost less that a regular dentist ... )
and remember, EVEN IF YOU WORK, you can still qualify for Medicaid ... look into it.

A small bottle of clove oil is available from any chemist... apply liberally directly to the painful area using a cotton bud. Don't use too much because if the clove oil gets on your lips too much it'll cause them to dry out and crack. You'd be saving yourself a world of pain and improving your image and confidence if you just make an appointment with your dentist to get whatever work you need done.

You may actually seek help from a government or public hospital or health center. I believe the physicians and dentists there are paid by the government to serve the people. We have privileges to avail free services from those health institutions since we are the ones paying them through our taxes.

By the way, to at least help you relieve or get rid of your toothache problem, I may recommend you to use OraMD. I believe it is very affordable and effective enough to resolve your problem. It's high time to free yourself from various dental and health problems.
