First, Get some salt and a tiny bit of water and make a paste out of it. Place it on your nipples while laying down for a few minutes. Rinse off with WARM water. Salt helps heal all wounds. If your still in pain, get a product called bactine (get at walgreens or walmart). Which will not only help with infection, but make the sore part of the nipple go numb. Also, make sure that you remove all scabbing around the ring BEFORE cleaning it and moving it in and out of your nipple, otherwise your just tearing the inside of your nipple open again, which makes it longer for it to heal.

Personally, What the HEL* is wrong with you? You should have never done it from the beginning and most certainly not in such a very sensitive area. I grew up in a family of Doctors, Lawyers, Nurses and Surgeons and I personally am into the anatomy of the body, and believe me you're not suppose to be piercing these sensitive areas. From a medical standpoint, you probably have pollups in your nipple lining and you possibly could have Kiloids that are causing the nipple lining to separate from the tissue against the skin, which can easily cause infection, bacteria, and/or little blood clots. If so, it would dissepate the skin from healing properly due to the area where it's infected is on the inside and not on the surface of the skin pur se. If I were you, I would take my butt to the Doctor immediately before this develops into a skin condition that you cannot get rid of. Kiloids and the Kiloids Trait are very serious conditions if you are a Kiloids carrier. When you get all this sorted out ... Simply put ... stop piercing yourself!!! ... It's not all that damn attractive and it does nothing but cause miniature blood clots underneatht eh skins tissue that could revert into bigger skin problems and infections that you don't even know you have. STOP PIERCING YOURSELF ... IT'S NOT ALL THAT!!!
Much Love,
Peace & Happiness

I had my belly button done almost 2 years ago and every time I try and change my ring I get an infection, does not matter if it is surgical steel ring or not.....kinda strange. It took mine about a year to heal as well with the original one I have in. I soaked it in SEA salt twice a day, that helped the healing process.

If you are having discharge, swelling, if the area is red and warm to the touch, developing "finger" like areas coming from the piercing site...all can mean infection.
What hasn't healed? I really don't understand what symptoms you are experiencing....
Please, if you're worried, make an appointment to see your Dr. Better safe than sorry I always say! If it concerns you, and you just "know" when somethings not right with your body, then call him/her.
If nothing else, the peace-of-mind will be worth the trip!

I would have never had them done in the 1st place, if they are causing you a lot of discomfort then remove if you have not done so already and let the area heal up. Then maybe later on have it redone, you might have some kind of infection going on. It might be to your best interest to see a medical person, they have seen more than you think.

You don't need to go back to the same piercer to get that checked, just go to a professional piercing place and ask them. Even if you didn't get it done there you can still ask, it doesn't seem normal to still not be healed unless you get it caught on things often, or not cleaning them daily. Hope everything is okay though.

Perhaps you are having a reaction to the type of metal your jewelry is made out of? I would not wear anything less than implant grade surgical steel in my piercing. I would suggest going to a local piercer and have him change the jewelry to an implant grade sugical steel. Care for them as if you just got pierced and see if there's a difference. If you still have irritation, you may have no choice but to let them close.

If they are oozing, sore, red or smell you need to see a dr asap. In fact you should see a dr. regardless just to make sure.
Piercings like that are essentially big puncture wounds. Yes they take time to heal but that is a loooong time.

everybodies healing process is different. if you want them, keep them, but keep in mind that it may be a while more before they heal. if they are not right, i would suggest getting rid of them before something really bad happens to your body.

go to a local shop and ask them to take a look at them. Mine took FOREVER to heal, and were infected at one point.... it can't hurt to ask.
