There is a small resturant /pub that I go to once a week with my friends. Everytime we are there, there is an older guy there that stares at me CONSTANTLY! I have chosen to simply ignore it. He then started talking to me as I pass by to the restroom. All of which is comments that show he is watching me while i'm there. Now, this past weekend, he took my picture on his cell phone. I told him that was illegal and he stated "not in Illinois". The fact that he even knows that is frightening to me. I asked him to delete it, he refused and said he was going to post it on his company website!! I then made it a point for him to see my boyfriend and I together and being affectionate. Although, i'm sure he knows exactly who he is. My boyfriend even pointed out that he thinks this guy is obsessed with me. He may be harmless, but makes me VERY uncomfortable. What course of action can I take without causing additional problems? Taking my picture was the last straw for me!

There is a web page called find law. This page has all types of legal issues. www.findlaw.com try this for some help. The second thing is try to find the cell phone service this man is using and reported to that company. The Finlay step is go to the police and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure a picture when taken on public property, you can't really do anything about. How else do you think the paparazzi get away with hounding celebs, it's all on public land. I'd call the police about a restraining order. And the most obvious thing of all, stop going to the restaurant, if you're still going obviously you aren't that uncomfortable.

i've got been via this occasion with my ex husband videoing me in my backyard with my son. The legal subject is particular, if the guy is in a public place with none implied degree of privateness, he can not preclude you from taking a image. meaning, if different individuals see him and understand he's there and he's no longer in a dressing room or bathing room, and so on. And as long through fact the undertaking isn't A MINOR. what's prohibited is him attacking you! it quite is attack and battery and he could be held answerable for that. No you do no longer might desire to delete the image! i might take that image to the police and have the jerk arrested! look into the clicking, they image each and all of the time. the only time you are able to no longer image somebody is that in case you enter onto inner maximum property and take the image...yet you are able to stand outdoors the valuables and snap away! it quite is why I placed up a privateness fence! LOL! good success to you!

Well you could start by letting the pub managet know about it, they usually don't tolerate stuff like that. If he is botherins their customers (you and your friends) the management will probably kick him out or ban him from coming back. If that does not work you may have to find a new hang out. The next time you are stopped by him on the way to the bathroom, "accidentally" spill your drink on his fon, then at least he won't have the picture!

I would be careful. It sounds that this guy isn't all correct upstairs. If anything goes any further, i suggest making a complaint and see if you can have a report and restraining order against him just for your protection. Also i would explain to your boyfriend how much it is effecting and disturbing you. If he really cares for you, he'll do something to make the guy stop.

It's simply a kind of trespassing without permission. You can seize his cell and hand it over to the police with complaint. If this wont work , alternately take his pic next time and complain with the help of your pal.

My husband and I were at a campground where a stranger took my pic on his digital camera. My husband asked a county sheriff's deputy who was patrolling to talk to the guy, who showed them the photo on his camera and then deleted it in front of the officer and my husband. We notified the campground authorities.

Other women at the campground later told us this same man had taken THEIR photos. Three women, all tall, good-looking blondes. (Apparently, he was a collector, of sorts).

Who knows what this guy does with these photos in the privacy of his home? Who knows what's going on with your restaurant ogler?

Complain strongly to the restaurant owner and point out the guy so he knows you are complaining about him.

AND STOP going to this restaurant for a while.

I say skip looking for your answer on the Internet and go straight to your local law enforcement agency and register a complaint. Or you could just start choosing another pub around you to go to.

Don't go to that pub anymore.
Taking a picture isn't that big of a deal, but if he is stalking you, that is a problem.

I'm sorry to say but if you post any pics of yourself online and someone takes them without your permission, they can do anything they want with those pictures. Anything that you post online is basically open to the public, there is no copywrite laws for pictures.
