OK - If you were in Australia, I'd say get to a hospital asap as a spider with a red back is called a redback spider and is native to Oz.
Its bite can kill a child and make an adult very sick. It is listed high on our venomous list.
I don't think you have them there but if your skin reacts badly to any bite, then it is best to have it checked out.
BTW: DO NOT rub anything onto, into or over it. Good grief people!
If the spidey is dead, carefully place it with tongs or something into a container or jar so that it can be identified and appropriate anti-venom given to you.
Do cover it with a sterile dressing and go to either the hospital (preferably) or your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry!

there are not too many 'red backed' spiders in England. are you in UK? All spiders can bite but not too many puncture the skin. The so called 'Ladybird' Spiders are quite robust and have been recorded in and around the heathland in Dorset. The male has a red back with spots. They CAN bite but unless you are particularly allergic there shouldn't be too much of a problem, but you describe that mottling of skin etc and I would certainly have seen a GP or a/e dept by now if I had been you.
By the time you read this I hope you have been treated.

Let it run its course. Obviously, you will be fine. No sense in going to the Doc or ER for some needed antivenom or anything like that. I doubt that you will bleed to death, even if it has not stopped bleeding for A FEW DAYS. Good grief, man. Pull yourself together and wait a few more days while wackos on Answers will generally tell you to just go the the doctor NOW, as common sense would have dictated the first time you noticed your big bleeding purple hand.

That's totally normal. Don't worry at all. The purpleness spreading throughout your body is just the natural healing process. It will go away with time - don't panic.
If you want to help speed up the healing process you should dab a bit of your own urine on the wound. That will disinfect the area and kill any harmful bacteria.

You have cellulitis, an infection of skin and underlying tissue.
Go to the doctor know for antibiotics - if you wait you will need IV meds and possibly surgery.

If you are reading this then you shouldn't be. Get to your local A&E department NOW, while you still can.
Don't mess about with pouring stuff over it. Just wrap the wound in a clean bandage and get moving.
