My husband and I renew our promise to each other each year (privately); and then we always have an anniversary 'celebration party' to go with it.
We usually invite a couple of close family friends and we all go on vacation together (kids and all) - we aim to travel to a different country each time, however we have only made it to 8 countries in the past 13 years. We have loads of fun and laughing non-stop for days - I couldn't imagine not celebrating our wedding only once in our lives.

renewing on a first wedding anniversary is a bit premature, usually people do it after years of being married. Doing it on or near the actual anniversary does make sense.
If you want to do something spiffy you can throw a one year and going strong party.

I would not renew on the first anniversary, it is just kinda, well, dumb. You are still technically newly-weds. Wait until your fifth anniversary. I don't think that you have to renew on an anniversary, just whenever you want to.

I think that it can be anywhere. I dont think that it has to be in a church or anything like that. I got married on the beach. I think that would be up to where you all wanted to go. i dont think that you need it on the real day, but it might be a good idea.
I would LOVE to renew them. I think that I will eventually. My husband talks about it all the time. It makes me feel good. I think that we will show each other that we really love each other enough to do it all over again.

I would do it on my 10th anniversary at my second or third runner up for a honeymoon destination, had I not made it to that destination yet. For example, if Costa Rica was my first choice for my honeymoon and Jamaica the second, and I hadn't made it to Jamaica yet, I would renew the vows in Jamaica.

Not on the first annyversary....the honeymoon wouold still be on! LoL!
I would do it at the 10th wedding anniversary. A party will all the bells and whistles. If youc an make it through the first 10 years together, a party is due.
Good luck

I have never understood why anyone would want to renew their vows in the first place. One time of vows is surely enough. You can recommit to each other every day of your lives!

You can renew your vows where ever you would like. Most people do it on an anniversary date. But you can re-new the vows any time you want to, snookums.......

I don't think we'll ever be renewing our vows... My husband barely got through the wedding.
