As a skeptic, I studied all religions and found Buddhism the most reasonable form of spiritual teaching. I found the Zen schools to be of particular interest and use the meditation techniques taught in the Soto traditions. I've been to Zen centers and have sat with internationally know Zen masters. In all that experience I was never once asked to believe in anything that wasn't real.

Both, in a way. My mother became Buddhist when I was 9 and brought my brother and I into it. I studied further a couple of years ago. I like that most questions are answered better than 'believe it or else.'

I left Christianity at the age of ten, studied many religions, then settled on Buddhism by the age of fourteen. Close seconds were Taoism and Shinto. I have since been studying and expanding my knowledge of Buddha's teachings...
