Why did god create man? As you are about to answer this question make sure you read everyones answers as well. I'm trying to get a notion that everyone who has a religion is not on the same page as others. There is no right or wrong answer but if religion is here this answer should be consistant.

did god create man? Prove it. There are no witnesses. There are no documents or writings from that time (whenever it was). The ONLY things we have are documents written by man millenia after the fact making claims that we were created. One of those documents called the bible, within several verses of each other makes the claims BOTH that man was created before plants AND man was created after plants. In the rest of the ot, the writer/s has god taking credit for all the blood spilled by man. The god as described in the bible created man to be his weapon of destruction.

If god is perfect, with out flaw....then he would not want, or need anything...love included

so to me your asking why a flawless being was inspired to create anything.

and that's a better question than most would think keeping in mind that "necessity is the mother of invention"

and if there was a NEED for anything, this completely trashes the "perfect god" idea and the whole religion comes crumbling to the ground.

in the face of such lies is why we of no faith question the mental stability of those who have it.

good day to you

God is not omnipotent, just capable of creation, but he himself owes his existence to a greater entity, who is capable of perverting anything he can create and capable of destroying it easily. We may very well be, in some ways, a hope for God himself, in some strange way capable of not just assuring that we are not corrupted and destroyed like the other universes before us, but also give God himself, in his creator aspect, the power to assure that the destroyer aspect is undone.....go random speculation, woot!

He needed someone to make plastic. And all that work he did with the dinosaurs was being wasted, so he came up with us to pump the oil out and burn it in the atmosphere, and to make plastic out of. See, it all works its way around back to god wanting plastic. He must have needed a cup holder, or a frisbee.

God created us to have fellowship with Him. In the beginning, this was so; but the mar of sin has disrupted this relationship. God made a plan to reunite Himself with humanity and destroy the plague of sin.

Many different answers have been offered to this question and I think that the real answer is a composite of biblical themes revolving around love, sacrifice, and fellowship. Certainly, God is self-sufficient so there is no lack in Him, no void that must be filled. In 1 John 4:8 it says that God is love. In John 3:16 it says that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." We can see that the nature of love is to give. Furthermore, in John 15:13 Jesus said, "No greater love has anyone than that he lay his life down for a friend." In addition, 1 Cor. 1:9 states that we are called into fellowship with the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Quite simply, it seems that God desired to create us in order that He might be able to simply love us. I think this is evidence in the way creation was begun. God walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden. We see that after their sin, it was the Lord who came looking for them (Gen. 3). They are the ones who hid themselves. God sought them out. He desired to be with them and love them. Therefore, He set up the sacrificial system by covering Adam and Eve with animal skins. Of course, this was a representation of the sacrifice of Christ to come by while Christians are covered and redeemed. God's desire to fellowship and love us is not a weakness in Him, but a manifestation of His character of love.
Love does not focus on itself, but on others. God merely created the universe as a natural manifestation of His love and populated it with us for whom He could express the greatest act of love, which is self-sacrifice, and with whom He could give the greatest thing in the universe: fellowship with Him. In this, He is glorified.
If God had never created us, it would not lessen Him at all. He didn't need to create us due to any lack in Him. Rather, He merely desires to love us and fellowship with us
