John 17:16 They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.

Can you really say from what you see today that Religion is no part of the world?

We would be able to tell who are Jesus' true followers by how they act. Jesus told them to be no part of the world. Many Christians follow worldly ways, not Bible standards. Jesus did not follow traditions but his Father's laws. We are to do the same if we don't want to be considered part of worldly Christendom. Jesus also said, "Get out of her you people", this is worldly Christendom.

When Jesus said that what he meant was that True Christians don't get involved with the government and in worldly affairs like politics, but many who profess to be Christians today do just that.

Many religious organizations are apart of the world because they get involved with the government but TRUE Christians follow Jesus in being no part of this world and staying politically neutral putting all hope in God's government instead of man's.

Religion is definitely part of this world. God didn't create religion, man did. God simply wants us to believe in him and serve him. Of course, everyone has a difference of opinion on how to do that, thus, all the different religions. I am sure even Jesus is just as confused as we are!

Jesus wasn't talking about religion Jesus was talking about the disciples or men that God had given him.
Religion is part of this world, but Christianity is NOT a part of this world..
You then must define Christian & Christianity by the Bible.

What Jesus is praying here is protection for his followers from those who would persecute them.

I don't understand your second question...but one does not have to be religious in order to follow Jesus. Religion and faith are two different things entirely.

No. What I see is more and more people trying to put God into this world (that is, legislate their religion into the government). If God is not of this world, then that is wrong.
