Something in the robotics domain. Simple but not too popular.
I saw that the internet is full of line-follower robot and maze-solving robots. So I really don't want the same very common project. So, any suggestions?

FIRST Robotics is very popular, and not the best (in my experience). There are very limiting design constrictions, and not much for the kids to do. I was on a FIRST team about 4 years ago. The mentors from GE did all the fun parts (programming the BASIC Stamp, deciding how it was designed, etc.).

Anyways, there are many possibilities. Lawn Mower robot, robotic system to take the trash to the curb, vacuum cleaner (take a shop vac, put some motors, casters, sensors, and a system to move the hose around), etc. Autonomous Sumo is fun. I started with the maze solving, fire-fighting robots in High School. Now I'm trying to get all of the parts together for a LEAF series robot.

Check out usfirst.org for some interesting robotics projects done by teams of students. You can also go to www.vexlabs where you will find challenges using VEX Robotics kits, which are available on the website or perhaps your school will have some.

I mentor a FIRST FRC high school team, we have a great time with robotics competitions. Depending on your grade level you may want to investigate starting or mentoring a FIRST Lego League, FTC or FRC team. Info is on the FIRST website. Good luck finding your project!

What some small Swiffer robotic which will roll alongside kitchen countertops and sparkling spills? If that's no longer dramatic adequate what approximately one that lurks in the back of the bathroom and then rolls out to bathe the floor in the experience that your urinating objective is unfavourable.

What about a small Swiffer robot that will roll along kitchen counter tops and clean spills?

If that is not dramatic enough what about one that lurks behind the toilet and then rolls out to clean the floor if your urinating aim is poor.

How about a robot that 'searches' for small, black pebbles on a white floor. When it 'finds' one, it picks it up and drops it into a container. A 'house-cleaning' robot.
