For your face, switch to a heavier moisturizer; I know a lot of people that rave about Cetaphil, but I find it's not thick enough for my tastes. If you're not comfortable having a heavier lotion on your face during the day, try just using the heavier moisturizer at night.
As far as the rest of your body goes, I looooove anything from Vaseline Intensive Care, though I also had pretty good luck with Olay's Quench line. You might also want to try body butter a few times a week to give your skin an added boost of moisture.

I've tried EVERYTHING on my hands for dry winter skin, especially because they are in water quite often. The BEST product I've found is called "Udderly Smooth". You didn't read that wrong. It's a GREAT whole body cream that was originally developed by dairy farmers to moisturize and smooth the udders of cows prior to & following milking. I think one of the reasons it's so effective is because it doesn't contain any alcohol, like a lot of other hand creams. Anyway, you can find it at Walgreens, WalMart, CVS, etc. It's inexpensive, LIGHTLY scented, a tube lasts a long time, it soaks right in & doesn't make hands greasy or slimy. It's easy to spot on the shelves, too...the tube is colored like a black & white cow!

Depends on what type of heat you have in your home.. and if you have a humidifier..
Electric heat is very drying.. so try adding a bit of moisture in the air.. by getting a humidifier if you can or keeping cans of water filled up on the heaters if you have baseboard heaters that is, it helps a bit ...
And do moisturize daily.. and all over, especially at night.. after a bath or shower is best as it absorbs quicker.. and don't forget to get a chapstick or something that will moisturize your lips also..

Body moisturizers that contain shea butter and tea tree oil, along with the therapeutic grade of essential oils really help to moisturize dry skin by penetrating 3 layers deep. Try to find products that do not have a lot of additives and fragrances in them. I know of some specific products, feel free to contact me if you want more information.

Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.
In a more serious skin diseases, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.
Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.
I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.

1.After shower, apply baby oil to wet skin. Your skin remains nourished whole day.
2.Apply oilve oil to whole body and take shower with a mild soap like dove. Olive oil seals in tons of moisture and prevents skn from drying out.
3.If you dont have time to apply oil then try this. After shower, dry your body and apply lubriderm moisturiser. It keeps your skin very smooth.
4.Eat lots of fruits and drink plently of water.

Try oatmeal-based body lotions. Always apply directly after you dry off from the shower, when your pores are open. Exfoliate, exfoliate!

lotion lotion lotion...get a good lotion not the real perfumey ones. Go for eucerin or cetaphil. Put lotion on right when you get out of the shower, on your hands and arms through out the day, and at night load up your feet and put on cotton socks. Moisturizing soaps also help...like olay w/creme ribbons.

I heard that Preparation H helps dry, cracked hands. It makes sense if you think about it.
