Well, not everyone know, but still most people do. The reason why they keep on going on about their usual ways is that they thnk it's not their business. Let the scientists handle that, they say.
Also to do anything to prevent or reduce global warming would take a great sacrifice in everyone's part and they are just not willing to give up the comfort of air conditioners or cars for something which they are not even sure exists.
Sure no one expects them to come up with a great idea of how to save the world, but there are always little things they can do to help - like using less air-cond or taking the public bus, after all, it's the little things they do that got us into this mess.
Sometimes people need a big shove to set them in the right direction. I'm sure those who are aware but not doing anything against global warming are waiting t see if their neighbour;s or relatives start doing something. It's the ''wait-and-see'' thing. People love to go with the flow, all we gotta do is start the flow.

Because that's part of the problem, things take a long time to change, it'll be 25 - 50 years before we're all in fairly fuel efficient cars, if we could all get into hybrids tomorrow that would make a huge difference but unless the government decides to give them away for almost nothing people are still going to use the cars the spent 20 or 30 thousand dollars for a long time. Solar homes and businesses, yes we're making progress but it'll taken again decades before a significant number of homes and businesses convert, If the government mandated them, ( Republicans scream now!! ) than the change over would happen much faster but that's not likely to happen anytime soon so it's going to take a long time, and it's like that with any big ticket item.

Any issue has two or more sides to the story. There is much we can change, but scientists say it's not enough. The warming is set in motion and there will be global consequences. Many very bright people are making changes. It's difficult for us to see. Don't get discouraged. There is much each of us can do every minute of the day. The direction we must follow is to consume less, use less energy, reduce demand on natural resources such as forests, reduce human sprawl and clear cutting.
For example if you eat a hamburger where does the meat come from? Did you know a large amount of beef is imported from Brazil where vast areas of tropical forests are clear-cut to create grazing land for the cattle. Besides beef isn't good for the human body.
Learn about your world and the products you demand. It has an impact somewhere remote to our experience.

Alot of people ignore "Global Warming" or "climate change" because there is not much people can do about it.
We as human beings have very little power over this planet. We are subject to its whims. We can't stop or even predict tornado's, earthquakes, floods or droughts.
Now try to imagine taking control of the Galaxy in which we live. Stopping asteroids, controlling the temperatures of the Sun and Sun spots.
Beside that point, what can we do to combat the complete and total disregard for the enviroment that China, India and Latin America have when they out number our population by 10 to 1?
Go ahead and change your light bulbs if that makes you feel better.

Everyone? I don't consider it a big problem. The only reason people think it is a big problem is because someone who has a political agenda made it a big problem. I ignore it because I don't think it is worth my attention. The earth is a very big place and we humans are very small. Besides if it really is a big problem and since the earth is very big, it will take decades to to solve this problem and so it wont happen overnight. The people in politics use flawed computer models to show global warming. How do you show the earth warming when records were not kept of this sort of thing in the past? They guessed at it. They don't know any more than you. It is election time and they use this to sway the vote and I don't buy it. Besides how do you prevent something if you can't even predict the weather?

What do you want us to do?
Give up cars and electricity? I would rather live on a warmer globe with some coastal cities abandoned to rising sea level than go back to a 1800s life style.
Plant more trees? That just will not help at all. People who think it will are just wrong.
Build more solar panels? We ARE doing that. Solar cell factories are going up all over the world. A friend of mine is working on starting up a big one now. But these plants cost hundreds of millions of dollars each to build. And we will need thousands of them to make enough solar panels to make a dent in the electricity demand of the world. And it takes ENERGY to build and operate them. We are burning lots of oil to build each one. And they take lots of energy to operate after they are built.
Build more wind turbines? We ARE doing that. There is a new wind turbine factory in my town.
Solar and wind are OK for electricity, but useless for airplanes or ships. And not much use for cars until much better batteries are invented.
Invent new batteries? We ARE doing that. It is mostly for the cell phone, laptop, and other portable electronic market, but TONS of money is being spent on this problem. And these batteries can be used in cars after that are invented. The new Tesla electric car just uses a whole lot of laptop batteries. But it costs $100,000 because these batteries are still too expensive.
So don't say people aren't doing anything. They are. They are building solar cells and wind turbines and new kinds of batteries and nuclear power plants and biodiesel plants and all kinds of things. What are YOU doing to help? Other than complaining on Yahoo! Answers that is.

Global Warming(climate change) is a natural event. It is ongoing, will never stop, and there isn't anything anyone can do about it. It is not that I ignore it. I Don't ignore it any more than I ignore the fact that the earth revolves around the sun. It just isn't something that need my attention.

Traditionally, most people prefer to remain part of the problem. It requires a situation where their own personal stuff is threatened to get them off the dime. Exceptions are rare.

Because it's all about money and control. If it was a serious problem, the only real solution would be to go to all nuclear power. If they are unwilling to take the only realistic step to a solution, it shows that they are not really serious.

Who said global warming was a problem? During the next 100 year you have nothing to worry about. If an asteroid hits, then worry. Whay isn't anyone hunting asteroids?
