Look, all of the above posters are wrong about Ninjutsu to begin with. The term Ninja bascially translates to "Survivor" or "To Preservere" and stuff on that order. IMO, that term can go for all martial arts because they teach self defense/survival.

As far as Korean Ninjutsu goes, it was probably just Hwarang (Or Sulsa) warriors using warfare tactics and of course, survival tactics.

Ninjutsu is basically any technique that helps you survive. Not necessarily warfare tactics, spying and stuff.

I've never heard of korean "ninjutsu".

To respond to the other portion of your question, real ninjutsu is about deception and not necessarily combat. If they could eliminate a target without even drawing their blade, they do so.

As far as I understand Hwarando and TKD, both are combat styles and not styles of guise.

Maybe I'm wrong though...I'm definitely not an authority on either topic.

i dont know about korean ninjutsu but taekwondo is more of striking esp. with the legs, ninjutsu on the other hand is something more like countering, manipulating attacks. Ninjutsu are like ninja stuffs and specializes on graplling, something like that.
Anyway that's what i think.

Sulsa (sool-sah) is a dicipline inside Hwarangdo and is the Korean version of Ninjitsu.

I hope this helps. Modern Taekwondo and Hwa Rang, it appears are heavily influence by Japanese martial arts, though many moves may or may not be older and related to the original martial artists bearing the names of their modern incarnations.
