Your fingerprints have no bearing on your conviction being expunged. They go into a file and will be there forever. It is a means of identifying you, not a record of your crimes.

even if you have a charge esponged it will still show up on a law enforcment RAP search. the arrest will follow you forever, your finger prints are attached to a number depending on your crime, if you have a violent offense, drug offense, or felony you will have a FBI number....

Once your figerprints make it to the FBI's computer, they are in there for good.
