Anytime I dream of running...whether its running to catch up to something or running away from something I can never run, its like my legs are solid cement blocks and the only way I can get anywhere is by gripping at grass on the ground or whatever objects are around to grab on to. This is the only way I can ever run in a dream...I think I've only had 1 dream in my whole life in which I could run w/out the aid of anything. What does this mean?

I had a psych class once where the professor explained that feeling. It's quite simple. When you're in the dream state, your body actually goes into some sort of paralysis. So when you're dreaming of running and you can't, there's nothing hidden. It's simply that you're really trying to move your body in your dream and real life. No mystery. I didn't explain it as well as he did but I'm sure you get my drift.

This theme can also be part of the chasing dream. You're trying to run, but either your legs won't move or you simply aren't going anywhere -- as if you were on a treadmill. According to some, this dream means you have too much on your plate. You're trying to do too many things at once and can't catch up or ever get ahead.

I had a dream once, that interpreted a dream like you mentioned, as symbolism your brain uses to associate with the feeling, that that you may be feeling stuck in an odd position in life, unable to get out of or move on. Perhaps in school, a job, relationships, even family. You could be thirsting new scenery, change, or just some general freedom in your life. Perhaps this applies to you.

Running in dream symbolizes break though. Projecting yourself not be able to run symbolize losing control. In other words, there is will to do things in reality, but due to certain restriction, you are unable to do so in reality. Therefore, you projected that as running in dream, but can't. In translation, you may be having some conflict in some control. It could also hint about some decision making. In your case, you may be pressured by the fact that you can't make the right decision.

According to Dreamcrowd:
To dream that you are stuck, represents helplessness and feeling of being unable to escape from life's problems/stress. You have lost confidence in yourself and in your ability to move ahead in your life. Your lack of clear goals and low self-esteem may be a common cause for such dreams.

simply, when we cannot run away quickly enough from something scary that is chasing us, it means your subconscious is telling you, don't run away from your problems, face them head on and resolve them!
