Also, how much money do I need to give to the Catholic Church in order to ensure that I go to Heaven regardless of what I do?

Considering that there is no such thing as purgatory and its just made up to get your money. Save it. If your loved one didn't accept Jesus before death nothing can get them out of hell. God cannot be bought. How much would it take to change his mind? Sounds like blackmail to me.

I'm sure the Church adjusts the price according to the assets of the penitent. In either case, loved one or self, it will surely take every penny you have.

Actually, according to Encarta Encyclopedia, the Catholics still do sell indulgences, although the practice was modified in 1967. The fact that selling indulgences touched off the Protestant Reformation apparently didn't diminish the Catholic Church's persistent love of money.

Zero. The catholic church does not save, nor does the Christian Church, the Baptist Church, nor even the Church of Wicca can save you.

Only Jesus Christ can save.

You cannot pay anyone out of purgatory, because there is no purgatory.

Wanna know something else? I know what to do so you can be saved ( Go to heaven) no matter what you do. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord."

Those things are out. They were done in the 14th and 15th centuries. No Catholic church practices that anymore and for you bring this up only to poke fun at the church of Rome seems very low on your part.

Contrary to what is suggested this practice still continues. They have only revised it a little so it isn't as obvious. Now you pay to light a candle for a loved or you pay to have a mass said for a departed one. The fee is called a stipend.

55 years ago my grandmother was driven into poverty because she payed what the priests asked her to so that they would pray for the 'soul' of my dead mother.

Was that not their job anyway?

This confidence trick is an absolute evil which I will never forgive.
