I want the troops to feel my arm around their shoulders and tell them thank you and I whole-heartly totally support them on their mission.

SCREAMINGRADICAL - Sorry you had to go thru that. I believe it must be a sign of the times, whatever drugs the people are on at the time and what they are trying to prove.
Let me be the one to apoligize for those who don't see the forest for the trees that are in the way.
Bless you.

Yes, I served at the tail end of our other unpopular war and was spit upon, called a murder and baby killer, and made to feel like trash. I was in the Coast Guard saving lives and still got that treatment. I will now do what ever is necessary to make our troops feel like the heroes they are. God Bless them one and all.

I do feel the same. In the DC area, there are military people all around. I thank them when I see them, buy them coffee if we're in line at Starbucks, and have even taught my 6 year old daughter to do the same.

We also go on OperationDearAbby.com and send e-mails to our troops giving them encouragement and thanks.

This is not about politics, it is about supporting them and appreciating their sacrifices. God Bless our Troops.

That is what I spend most of my life trying to accomplish. LEAVES is set up to support the (too many) Servicemembers who tend to fall through the cracks. Thank you for your expression and let me know if you would like to get more hands on with your support.

As a disabled vet I certainly would, but I did before I was. There are a lot of groups that help you to do this... either with care packages or by helping their families etc.. etc..

Guy hugs aren't really my style but I would definitely give them a slap on the back and a heartfelt salute. They deserve it!!!
