The Greek of John 3:16 concerning 'faith' or belief denotes as one commentator said:
'Living Faith' Thus, Everyone who as a Living Faith in Jesus will be saved.
Faith like Love requires action or it is a hollow, empty word.
=====
JW's agree with James, faith without works is dead.
our faith has to be alive inorder to save us.
===
Depending on which Protestant group you talk to will determine what belief is faith and works tied together,
From No Works, just Faith, to faith must be backed by works.

I agree with Adam's Rib, JR & Heavenly Eyes.
Think about it like this:
Noah was saved through the flood by faith. So, was it his faith that saved him? YES! But how did his faith save him?
Did it not move him to obey Jehovah and build an ark?
What do you think would have happened to him had he said: "I believe God will flood the earth; I know he said to build this ark, but I have faith that he will save me."
Do you think he would have lived through the flood had that been his attitude?
Note Hebrews 11:7 - "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."
Did you note: "By faith Noah ... prepared an ark...."
I do not know how the Catholics view this, and there are many sects of Protestants, so some may believe this way while others not.

James 2:14,26
What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead
Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

jesussaves, "They believe there are Quakers living on the moon. They built a temple for the return of Jesus and he never came. "
It's statements like these that should tell people NOT to believe everything they find on the Internet.
Hey at least they're good for a laugh.
Adam's Rib, JR, HEAVENly EYES and Abdijah have given good information that you might want to think about.

Well the bible says in Eph 2:8-9 that salvation is of faith and not works. If works not needed the JW religion is based on something other than the bible. Investigate their religion. They believe there are Quakers living on the moon. They built a temple for the return of Jesus and he never came. (guess they should have left a forwarding address). Their prophecies have been proven false most of the time. Ask how many times they set a date for the return of Christ. Still waiting. If its not based on the bible run away for it. Man is always wrong. Trust God
