I have a few tattooes in mind that I want to get, however I just moved to Mass. and now I need to find a new tattoo artist! Where can I find a good tattoo artist and how? I'm having one Hell of a time finding them on the net so anything people can give me or tell me to help me in my search would just be incredible and very appreciated! I don't care how far I have to drive as long as it's within driving distance, because they are all going to be colored and I'm pretty sure that I'll have to do more than one sitting for each of them.
Thanks for the help guys!

Oh, and if this information helps I want someone who can draw the art from Final Fantasy and Tarot Cards. (I know this might seem odd, but these decisions I've been set on for a couple of years now.)

Look up places in the yellow book online. They should have websites with portfolios of their artists for you to look at and from there you can get an idea of who might be the best person to do your tattoos. Then I'd suggest that once you find a few places you'd like to go see in person, take a few pictures with you and ask them to draw something up for you. While you're waiting on that, ask some of the people that have either just gotten tattooed that are in the shop, or people who say that they've done good work for them, ect. Aftehr that, look over all the drawings from all the places you go to, and then choose the one you like the best.

You should probably ask around if you see anyone that has a tatoo... even if its a stranger you just see out and about... usually they dont mind being asked especially if you tell them why you are looking for an artist.
Also I would suggest looking around at different tatoo studios... sometimes just by looking at the photos and portfolios will give you a lot of insight... some artists specialize in certain types of designs and that may or may not be what you are looking for...
Also, check out how clean the studios are and where they are located... are they located on a main strip or in the middle of nowhere in a broken down building?
A lot of times just talking to the artist will give you a "hunch"... whether or not they seem honest and nice or sketchy...
Basically, just shop around... it may take a while but its worth it to make sure you get what you want

Look online for local tattoo places. Most of them will have artist's portfolios that work in the shop and you can look through the pictures to see what they do work wise. It's always a good idea to go to a few and talk to them about what you want. They might even recommend someone that they know can sketch up a tattoo for you if they themselves cant do it.

I would start by asking around. If you happen to run in to someone that has an awesome looking tattoo, take the time to ask them where they had it done at. I would also keep doing what ur do in, check the Internet. Good Luck... I have 7 and love every last one of them...

look locally and around your area, they dont have to be well known artists or like big names or anything, as long as they have a good rep....if you really want to find someone to your preference what i would do is go locally to a couple places and do your homework, ask them if you could see there work, if they have albums of their personal work that you could see, alot of artists specialize in certain types of art....like black and white, potraits, cartoons, japanese art and symbols, some artists do big work and some only do small tats....you just gota ask around and actually get into it, maybe even throw out somem of your tat ideas to them and see if a couple could either look at what you want and draw rough drafts up to see if they fit what your looking for.....

I have always asked someone who has a good piece of artwork on them, who did your tat? and where is their shop?also check out the tattoo conventions, you will always find a good artist there, only problem is deciding which one as there are so many in one building

look in the phone book and then stop in at the shop and ask if you can watch the artist. its the best way to find a artist that you can trust. if the artist is any good he will not have a problem with you watchin.
