Hi Amanda,
You will need a litter tray and cat litter.
Feeding bowl and water bowl.
A cardboard box or cat bed with a blanket.
A few catnip toys.
Felix or Whiska's kitten food.
A scratching post.
These are the things you will need initially:
Please do not take the kitten away from its mother until it is 8 weeks old, IT MAY NOT SURVIVE.
Do not give the kitten milk, clean water daily is quite sufficient.
You may need to mash the kitten food up well and even with a little warm water at first.
Most kittens get the idea of the dirt box when you just place them in it. You may take his front paws and do a gently digging action in the litter with them.
When the kitten is 8 weeks old take him to your vet for his vaccinations and worming program.
When the kitten is 6 months old take him to the vet for neutering. This is most importants....
You will need flea treatment which is suitable for kittens and you should check this out with your vet. When he is over 6 months old you could use the spot on treatment on the back of his neck.
It is a good idea to get pet health insurance as you are about to find out the true costs of keeping a cat. Veterinary bills are very high and pet insurance puts your mind at rest. 1st quote can be found on the website the cost is about £69.00 per year and you only pay the first £50.00 of every new illness. If you think this sounds expensive wait until the get bills from the vet for £200.00 or more even up to £2,000.00.
You may wish to get him micro chipped, but I would still fit him with an elasticated collar.
You may wish to consider a magnetic cat flap at a later stage.
Hope this helps and I have'nt put you off. I just want you to know how expensive owning a cat can be and they can live 16 - 20 yrs.
Enjoy your little bundle of fun

Four weeks is very young. Kittens usually need to stay with their mothers for at least 7-8 weeks.
Food: start him off with a shallow dish of kitten formula (available from the vet or pet supply store). If he's able to lap it up, great - if not, you might need to bottle feed him until he is ready to eat on his own. Feed him small amounts, 6-8 times a day. Once he's lapping the formula well, start mixing in a small amount of good-quality canned kitten food. Gradually increase the amount of food in the mixture. By the time he is 8 weeks, he should be eating all kitten food, 3-4 times a day. You can start putting dry kitten food out for him in a few weeks, if you want to.
Litter: Start with a small, shallow litter box and unscented litter. After the kitten eats, massage his belly for a minute or two and then set him in the box.
As he gets older, he'll be very playful when he's awake. Try a few different kinds of kitty toys. You'll also need to get him a scratching post.
Since he's lived outdoors with lots of other cats, you'll want to take him to the vet first thing and ask about a vaccination schedule and testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia. Also ask the vet when the kitten should be neutered (usually at 3-6 months).
If he has fleas, use a fine-toothed flea comb to remove the fleas, and drown any you find in a jar of soapy water. Ask the vet about flea control for when the kitten is a bit older. Don't use over-the-counter flea products - they're very toxic and not very effective.
Finally, enjoy your new kitten!

from my experience with cats all i can say is keep on showing the kitten where the kitty box is and hope it works because most "outdoor" cats are used to going outside and doing their thing and like to keep it that way, but it could be that it will go in your house or not! I feed my cats performance cat food. a cat tree is important so he could scratch, some toys like feathers or balls, and hopefully he doesn't get to lonely or you'll soon have two cats. enjoy ur kitty and one of the girls at the top said take it to a vet i would do that right away and report the person you got it from because i had a baby kitty that was told to me it was 7 weeks but was 4weeks and died because the chances for this baby don't look good without its mama sorry but true

You shouldn't be getting this kitte. At 4 wks old he's way too young. They're not ready to be taken away until about 12 weeks. You'll need to give him extra vitamins to support him and a 5 wk old kitten needs formula milk (if away from mum) every 5 hours! This can be bought from good pet shops and vets, but it's just as expensive as infant formula milk.
HOWEVER. You can make your own formula if you're that willing. It's cheaper, you'll know what you're giving him and all the stuff is pretty easy to find:
1 cup of whole milk
1 large egg
2 teaspoons of powdered protein
1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
110mg powdered calcium
1 day dose of vitamins for adult cats
Mix it all together in a bowl, heat until 100 degrees farenheit, cool to 98 degrees before feeding with a feeding bottle from a petshop. You can get the protein etc from online stores.
You can re use the excess - heat in the microwave but stir up to prevent hot spots. You'll need to rub his tunmmy as well to bring up his wind. As you can see- they're very needy. You need to replace his full time mother.

Get him a litter box short enough for him to climb in. When you bring him home, let him get familiar with his surroundings, then put hin in the litter box. Once he gets the scent, he should know this is where he goes potty. Feed him kitten chow. If you'd like, moisten, not saturate, his food with water. DO NOT feed him canned food. This could constipate him very bad. In addition, any toys you may want to get would be great. Good luck!

You realize that a 4-week old kitten is too young to be away from its mother? If it is now with it's mother, leave it there until it's 8 weeks old. If it does not have a mother, take it ASAP to a vet and learn everything you can about hand raising underage kittens.

it must be. The definition of drug is so precis that it needs to be changed. the clarification you have become sexual fantasies is purely through fact its fur feels and scents good. attempt making love on your husband whilst he's wearing a undergo fur coat. which will relive your rigidity. in case you do no longer choose to try this, then, hopefully your cat isn't neutered. attempt getting your cat a companion, no longer purely will your emotions for this is going to disappear, yet you will additionally be happy for it.
