i've got self assurance unhappy for all you human beings. different than the chocolate donuts guy. choose I had some staggering now. yet anyhow you're being selective. in case you probably did any examine you will locate that analogy is universal as a partial one. It helps to understand the trinity, yet that may no longer how that's. As somebody pronounced, a solid analogy is an egg. There are 3 separate areas to an egg, yet at the same time that's an egg. devoid of anybody section, it does no longer be an egg. There are even extra suitable ones, yet this receives the gist of it.

The theology by Father K probably is good, and our more homely attempts to explain it are probably analogies that fail in many respects. One ends up making deductions from ones analogy that may not be right. Which will be so for this probably:

Willer - God the Father
Word - Jesus the logos, agent in creation and sustaining Universe, and living message of salvation
Doer - The Holy Spirit, who does the creation, miracles, enlightening of minds, rebirths of spirits

Just a quick note to those ridiculing the Christians and saying that water cannot be liquid, solid, and gas at the same time. Look up the triple point of water and come back. Get some education please.

Good question !

The early Jews were presented the Trinity Truths when a high Son of God, working under Christ (Jesus when later Incarnate here) suddenly appeared to Abram-->Abraham and over the years, taugh him and some others the Trinity ELOHIM and our one Universe Creator God Eloah (Christ Jesus). The Jews rejected Melchizedek and later they even rejected our Maker God-Man Jesus Christ Incarnate here until AD30 ! Here is proof: Look in the Old Testament for "ELOHIM" = The GODS, plural (Trinity, "Let US", etc) which is found about 2500 times; then see "ELOAH" = GOD, singular which is found only 250 times.

Ice and water and steam can all exist at once in any one large, cold body of water here on earth when the sun is shining. However. that analogy fails to show the Infinite Unique Personality of each: GOD the Universal Father plus GOD the Eternal Son plus GOD the Infinite Spirit and ALL ONE TRINITY GOVERNMENT on Paradise-Eternity. Three Persons of Love and Mercy and Universal Ministry and much more to infinity ! The Trinity is not a Person; roughly, more as an infinite Government Organization or Corporation.

Here are two more good Trinity symbols:

Draw three concentric circles of let's say 2" and 4" and 6" on a sheet of white drawing paper.
Notice that all three have the same ONE center and each share One infinite paper area (in ideal projection, Paradise)
The 2" inner circle represents GOD the Father
The 4" middle circle represents GOD the Son
The 6" out circle represents GOD the Spirit

Draw with blue crayon or paint on them to make each about 1/4" thick circles, or what looks good proportion to you.
This is the actual symbol that the Son of God Melchizedek wore on his breast-plate, about 4000 years ago. Some examples on pottery are resting on museaum shelves today. Not many have been found as the symbol was much considered "too Sacred to draw"; as those simple people were afraid to make images as recorded in the O.T. accounts. If you use this symbol for your own personal and spiritual sharing, that is fine; but one specific color, about halfway between blue and green for those three concentric circles is currently a legal registered trademark; and they do NOT allow any commercial use or tradmarking of same - just for personal, non-profit teaching-sharing uses.

Here is my inspired "rainbow symbol" of the Paradise Trinity; given to me about 15-20 years ago, I think. Another science -based person answering above me here also shared some of this :)) Truth comes to all without favor !

The rainbow is ONE rainbow, of THREE original Primary colors of SEVEN hue groups; (perceived by humans) and there is an INFINITY of very tiny different colors (wavelength, frequencies) in that rainbow. Infinite Unity and Three and Seven and infinite Diversity -- all in one Reality or rainbow symbol. (We drummers also beat loudly on many loud cymbals and drums in joy ! Ha ha)

The Spirit Reality numbers are 1 + 3 + 7 + oO

(when oO touch together, you have the infinity symbol which was "invented" by a very spiritual, God-conscious scientist, if I remember right. Look this up.)

This rainbow analogy is significant; and I freely allow you to share same. Freely we receive Truth, freely we share ! Amen !

Each human being is a tri-part being, made up of body, soul, and spirit, and yet each person is only ONE person.

An apple is made up of core, "flesh," and peel, and yet is only ONE apple.

Space has height, width, depth.
Time has past, present, future.
Matter has 3 forms: liquid, solid, gas.

1x1x1=1.

These analogies are always incomplete representations, because God is greater than our finite minds can comprehend.

Jesus was the master at illustrations.
I wonder why he didn't use a illustration to teach the trinity? Do you know why? Because
Jesus didn't teach the trinity.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOO!

The "water ice steam" illustration was condemned as heresy in the SECOND CENTURY!!!

Please do a Google Search on the heresy of "Modalism" - also called "Sabellianism" - named after the heretic Sabellius who was condemned for coming up with the idea 1,800 years ago!!!

Same thing goes for the "I am a father, a son, and a man. I am three different aspects of existence, yet I am one person" idea!! NO!!!

Three persons "hypostases" - one "ousis" substance!!

Water, Ice and Steam don't do it at all; Water cannot be liquid, solid and gas at the same time. In the Christian myth, God can be father, son and holy ghost at once.

R. C. Sproul of Ligonier ministries has had the most cogent explanations that I've heard.
