I like red (Merlot or Cabernet) and I like white (dry as in a Chardonnay or sweet as in a Reisling). I also like Rose, which I hear is making a comeback! Kinda depends on what I'm having to eat with it, if anything.
Most memorable - drinking cold duck (yuck looking back) with my new husband of about 12 hours, from our silver champagne glasses while sitting on a balcony overlooking the ocean on our honeymoon.
2nd most memorable - drinking good champagne with my husband of now 30 years, from the same silver champagne glasses, while sitting on our home's balcony, overlooking the city lights.

For reds I have always enjoyed the Italian wines of Tuscany. I'm partial to any wines from Antinori, Banfi, Carpineto and DaVinci. I only drank reds until recently (last 3 yrs). Again my favorites come from Italy. Just about any Pinot Grigio. I also am beginning to really enjoy New York State dry Rieslings. Particularly Hosmer and Buttonwood Grove. All of the above are usually under $40.

The 2004 Mitolo Cabernet Sauvignon Serpico is great. Robert Parker rated it with 94 points, and it should age well through 2020. This wine isn't the cheapest, but at $54.00 a bottle it will create memories of its own! I think the first bottle of Cabernet I found that my wife enjoyed was a great moment in wine since she only drank white wine before we met.

I am a red wine drinker, not only for the taste, but for the health benefits. I love Amarone, and the Allegrini Amarone is one of my favorites. According to Gambero Rosso, "the best-known of the new generation of Amarone labels, this is the one that has attracted the most international recognition. It’s solid, reliable, and ages well. It is, above all, a great red in which the usual alcoholic power of the Amarone is well-integrated into a balanced structure. The tannins are sweet and soft, acidity is not excessive and wood is used wisely."

I am partial to German white wines. My wife and I experienced a marvelous time vacationing in Germany and the wine was exceptional.
I think white wine is lighter on the stomach and I never cared for dark grapes either, always went for the green ones.

White...Pinot Grigio....I like Cavat, Bella Sera but mostly Santa Margarita...why...the first time I brought some wine ...I think it was red...I honestly can't remember what kind but I really didn't enjoy it...so I gave rest away to my sister...Then one day after a stressful day of work I decided to buy something...The guy at the wine and spirits store suggested i try a white wine because I told him I usually drink white or clear liquor...I brought home a bottle of 2001 Cavat...and drank a glass while taking a bubble bath....I slept like a baby that night...

i prefer white wines, a good sweet wine. Reislings are among my favorite. Late Harvest/Ice wines are very very good. But i also enjoy a good red, so long as its not to much on the woody side, and has a smoother flavor to it.
A memerable moment... I opened a bottle of champaign i was saving for a special occasion. <45$ bottle imported from france> I got engaged, and i figured it was the right time to open it.
