I was rehashing some bad memoried of my ex and James said: He convinced you you were worthless and helpless. It's time to get over him.
I know I've said the same thing to myself a thousand times over these last 5 yrs, but something about the way he said it, made it hit home.

I took some time to read a book that I have been trying to comlete called "Essential Spirituality' by Roger Walsh. I'm half way through and it has already taught me a great deal.
I know it doesn't count as the weekend but I also did yoga before I came into work this morning. I think it is a very good way to start off the day a plan on making it a regular practice.

I started reviewing a Christian archeology site, I'm hoping to find some hard facts eventually but as of yet, not much. It was a real eye opener as to what passes as acceptable fact in Christian Circles.
For example the proof of Adam and Eve was the "Temptation Seal" which obviously referred to Adam and Eve and not Gilgamesh. Exodus is proven by one of the possible routes between Egypt and Israel being a know Egyptian military route. And the Tower of Babel has the iron clad proof of a 20 story tower in Babylon which was damaged in battle around 600 BCE.
Enlightening, no?

I am so glad someone asked this question, I had a wonderful weekend, I live in Colorado and my husband and I took our 4 wheeler out, we live 2 hours outside of Denver so we are in the beautiful mountains, absolutely breathtaking, we went deep in to the forest, so it was seeing nature at it's best. I am a little discouraged though, because the beetle kill is really taking a toll on the trees out here, our forests are dying because of it, and due to activists we can't log them and I am afraid it's too late to save them, it would be the worst fire that ever was if a fire were to break out, people live all over these mountains, it would be devastating.

I went to Roller Derby on Saturday. I learned that I'm enormously attracted to big, mean, buxom women in fishnets and roller skates. Spiritual? Probably not. But definitely enlightening...

I was again reminded that my intellect is so very small, that there are so many things I cannot understand, I am truly humbled by this realization, perhaps even a little afraid of it. Absolute certitude and intelligibility fade away, as a horizon in the thickening mists...illusions of childhood. But in the depths of my soul, I feel a burning thirst, which cries out for meaning, goodness truth and love, a craving for the Waters of Life. And I take the path of hope, which leads to a Mystery beyond what my mind can grasp. He who is beyond mystery and intelligibility. He who's very name is Beauty.

Seeing my best friend home from the hospital after open brain surgery. The stitches are very hard to look at, but I'm glad he's alright. Some powerful force had his back!

Celebrated the Holy Mass - the blessed Sacrament of the Altar, instituted by Christ Himself "on the night in which He was betrayed" - and celebrated daily since them, making Christ "Really Present" in our midst, almost 2,000 years after The Fact.

A friend of mine took his vows as a monk to the Dominican order. I spoke to him after about his path in life, and what he shared with me about going to teach with the poor in South America was very moving.

okay...
hows this for enlightening...
Drive up to a stop light. Very large SUV pulls up along side of me (so I can't see around them). I check to see nobody's coming... Get the green light, begin making right turn, someone walks out in front of me with their dog. Dog's leash or woman's foot gets caught under car. Roommate gets out of the car (to bail out). I back up to release the lady from the tire- she yells at me to go away... I took her advice.
I learned that I need a new roommate.
